Hi Randall and everyone, Did you say $40?! I've seen that one sell from $99 to $150! Hope you're right on the price and can get it. Well, I did it! I went back to Randall's Toy Store and bought South African Princess Barbie. She is wonderful! What a face. Her screening is neutral, which I love, and she has wonderful short hair that even I won't be able to mess up. I can't wait to get her home to redress. Hi again, Randall, Thanks for clarifying that. I love the BB body. I like the smaller bust, the belly button and slim hips; even the butt has a nice curve (I'm so jealous!). The dress on the Bond doll was sewn on. Grrrrrr..... I cut it off carefully and will sew some snaps on. It is a beautiful dress. I also dislike the way Mattel doesn't make the jewelry removable. Still, I agree with you, they are doing some nice stuff. The male Bond doll is gorgeous, and Tango Ken would have me panting if I was Barbie. Tango Barbie was a pleasant surprise, very appealing, despite the rose in the mouth being permanent. Still, I can use her in my dioramas because she has a fully articulated body and I can pose her. I dont collect Silkies because of the need to limit my rapacious doll appetite, but I have bought a few things and would like to have the lingerie doll. I am rethinking my decision about South African Princess. I think shes a winner. I saunter back over to the doll store tomorrow. Darn, there goes my good resolutions! Hee hee. OT: black Barbie

Hi there, It's incredibly rare that I get excited about a Barbie, so I want to share. A friend of mine found me a Princess of South Africa Barbie. I had been looking for a month now ... they sold out quickly around here and I wasn't able to find one. I LOVE this doll. Of course, when she arrived at my house I immediately deboxed her and changed her clothes. She is now wearing a black mini-dress (courtesy Posh Spice) and black pointed toe shoes (courtesy Silkstone Barbie). I knew I would want to redress her in modern fashion rather than her original ethnic ensemble. If you all are into black dolls then you must check her out! She is incredibly and delightfully exotic! The only downside is I was hoping she would be on the new BB body but she is on the Shani body. Oh well, I still think she is great! I hope you are all doing well. Randall

Hey, I have recently acquired several dolls from the 50s and they, of course, must take priority over the newer dolls. Are any of you interested in buying a Magic Attic Heather (the brunette) doll? She's $45.00 plus shipping. Still in the box. I am also committed to sell of more of my Daisy and Willow dolls (even though I have seriously thinned them out already). Daisy in Trafalgar and Willow in Rock N Roll (both have boxes and are compete and exc.) both need to find new homes.
