Hi Randall and all, Nope, I didn't reroot the hair. I bought these really cool heads at the last convention. They were Mackie faced dolls with wild color hair. I cut the hair and curled, but she came with those glorius locks. Also picked up a blue one, and a purple one with an elaborate braided hair do. If you like the orange hair though, check out the mermaid dolls out right now. The Kayla in the line has great orange hair. Just put the head on another bod. I may do that once they go on clearance! You all know how cheap I am! LOL While I am at it, I realised I hadn't shared the last couple of OOAKs I have finished. Weekenders Dressed

HI All, Snaped this quick pic the other day and forgot to send it. Hi again, I'm sure many of your picked up several of the Candi Basics dolls. I just wanted to comment, I think they look great and I love the concept. I'm very much looking forward to the Adele & Veronique dolls. I preordered the basic redhead. The extra fashions look great too! I'm trying not to spend any money though ... and I have no room (I'm sure that's something we're all familiar with). Oh, if you're interested check www.mastercollector.com for toy fair pics. HI & Catching Up ...

It seems as though I have (unknowingly) became a lurker. LOL So I just wanted to drop a little note to catch up. How are you all doing? Things are going well here. Despite the fact that the clothing industry here in S. Florida is incredibly slow ... I am making progress with my clothing line, Choic. I am currently looking for more stores that are interested in picking up the line (i.e. stores that will buy things that are not mass produced). I am going to be doing a shoot the first part of march so by mid month you all will be able to see some of my newest designs on my web site, www.choic.com. At the same time I am looking to get my fingers into other areas of fashion so that I'll have more than one thing going at a time. I am currently discussing a possible venture into fetish wear. It's only in the very early stages of discussion though so I'm not yet sure if anything will come of it. Now I am regaining interest in making doll clothing. After studying fashion in college it has been difficult for me to make any sort of transition back sewing for dolls but I have been working on some nicely tailored things that are very high quality. I am hoping that I can come up with a concept of high quality clothing that will appeal to fashion doll collectors. I will be sharing more with you all soon! Oh, and to add to the craziness I am also starting a weekend position as a charity caller for the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. I am very excited about supporting this cause! Karla, so sorry to hear about your poodle

I will keep him in my prayers, ask my daughter to post on the animal board for prayers also. Debbie, recently had the same thing happen with one of her cats. A 3 year old blue russian, that someone had left in a dumpster as a kitten. Debbie rescued the little gal, and her cats go for regular check ups and shots each year, last visit she was told everything was fine. In the interim she had changed vets, the cat started hiding all the time, would not let anyone get near her, and started loosing weight. Deb took her to the new vet, they had to pull almost all of her teeth, and she had an infection in the mouth and throat, first strong antibiotics, then Debbie went on line and researched and found various natural things, including immune defense stuff, she now has Sabel on this, and the cat is doing wonderful. You may want to check into something like this for your Poodle. Pat Feick

HI Guys and dolls, Well I know some have wondered if I dropped off the face of the earth, Last part of January and then February was a BAD BAD month for me, I had not one but 2 bouts with a flu like thing, first time I was down for about 4 days and then had it AGAIN about 2 weeks later and was down with it again for about 5 days, then if tat wasnt ENOUGH, I have been horribly conjested and feeling icky again, and my doctor thinks it very well could be a mild form of pnuemonia, which could be really bad for me so I have had to take it fairly easy for about the last 3 weeks. Not something I wanted since I have so many things to get done, but this being one of the rare moments that I have felt better in the last month thought I shuld check in with folks and ask for ya to bear with me while I recuperate. OK well I am off to bed to get some needed rest and sleep! TTYS Kevin

Hi Karla, What you need is my budget and my hubby. Either that or I need yours! LOL I ordered two of the basics, and one of the Fashion Royalty. I splurged when I got both weekender sets, but I am not sure if hubby has seen the bill yet. LOL I have also asked Suzanne to preorder me one of the black poofy dresses ( forget the name) and that is it for now. I can only afford ONE of anything, and never all of a line. I have a rule with my budget, that I either LOVE it or don't buy it. When I have ordered anything else, I usually regret it. I went against the grain and ordered some Charices when there was nothing else, and I just don't like them, and there they lay in a box gathering dust. At least they were baggies and cheap. As far as space goes, I always debox ( well almost, I left the Startrek set in the box because I like the display, and the Polish doll of the world as that is hubbys background) The dolls hanging around in boxes just haven't been taken out yet, and there are only a couple of those. They take up a lot less space. I don't have all my dolls out at any one time. My vintage mod girls that were my childhood dolls all are still in cases as they are beautiful and unfaded and I want to keep them that way. I do take them out and play with them. I have a bunch of play girls that come and go with the seasons and what they want to wear. My worst problem is my OOAK girls. I have a whole line up on a shelf of those, and I may need to put up another shelf for those. I can't bear to leave any of those in boxes as most all of them were swaps, and I treasure all the time that went into each one. I must admit there is a big plastic tub and I mean big, full of "nekid" ladies all waiting for makeovers. Probably over a 100 dolls there. I can't seam to resist those thrift store things. I did get 3 more on clearance this weekend at KB they had a couple of corduroy cools and a bath time one for $3.00 each. Mackie faces with the old body. Can't resist. The only other thing is that the girls are not allowed in the rest of the house. There is an exception at Christmas cause hubby kinda likes those displays ( well, maybe not the pink Barbie tree!). Since they all have to stay in my doll room, I am limited there too. Hubby would throw me out if he had to wade through the dolls to get to the TV. ( especially the TV, LOL) So you see, just let my hubby at you, and you would be all fixed. That was no help at all was it? Kathy M. Frivolities Antiques Ft. Collins, CO

It doesn't even have a "back" or "home" button! LOL. But she did it for nothing -- wanted the practice so I can't complain. I do want to put together a site (or refine this one) that is more user friendly for exactly the purpose you mentioned -- to ID dolls. I also need to find said friend and see if she's up to putting up the rest of my dolls. I just updated my database and I have almost 250 dolls and there were only 12 Mattel dolls on it. I do have more Mattels, plus all my Candi's which I might put on a separate database. I had no idea I had so many DIFFERENT OFDs!! Some of the 250 are ones I have more than one of, but not many. (OK - that wasn't my best sentence structuring! LOL. It's late!) I want to add another field to it, too, so I can extrapolate just the clones. Any collectors input about the dolls is always welcome. For most of them, I don't have anything more than what's on the site. I'd really like to know more about the clones and I'd like to be able to date more of the dolls.
