Thanks, Silvana: I was able to find them and actually ended up ordering a few more. lol Wish I had bought them last year when I found them on sale for $5. But I didn't know then that I would soon have an obitsu doll that these fashions fit quite well on. Oops! Forgot to mention the Clea Bella booth. Got to meet the creator Christina Bougas again & see all the beautiful Clea Bella dolls. They have what sounds like a really fun Fan Club & they may be putting out a stage for displaying the dolls. There are special club dolls, patterns for sewing costumes, separate outfits, and accessory sets. The majority of the dolls have painted eyes, but there are a couple that have glass eyes. (Not my favorite, but a new touch.) And, they are all limited editions from 75-500 only. The Clea Bella website is www.cleabella.com. Melissa in MD

Hi, all! I had a very nice day yesterday at the Doll & Teddy Bear Expo in DC. Every year it seems to get smaller, but there is always some new wonder to drool over... Madame Alexander had some of the new articulated Alex family dolls. Not my favorite, but very nice. Still none of the great Movie Queens on display, though. Tonner & Effanbee had separate booths. Effanbee had the Brenda Starr dolls (Silver Siren is particularly striking!) and the Patsy Family dolls. Ed from Happily Ever Afer in PHL had a booth with Clea Bella, Kish, and the CED dolls, including a new face. My favorite, Colin, was there in both white & gold gown. Didn't know it came in 2 colors. Also there was a nice sized booth of OOAK Tyler dolls by "The Painted Lady", Linda Steele. Boy! did they sell fast! Her work is lovely! To take a peek, try her website at www.thepaintedlady.info. And finally, to the Tonner booth. Oh, my! Those Tyler mix & match outfits are fabulous! Now I have to decide which pieces I can't live without. They had the Tiny Betsy dolls & the new Tiny Mary Englebreit, Tiny Kitty, but no Emme. I guess she is being fazed out. I asked Tom about the 12" Emme and it looks like she may never be released. What a shame! Barbie really needs a striking plump friend... But the biggest, best surprise for me was to see Tyler's new boyfriend, Matt O'Neil. He is gorgeous! The Basic Tee & PJ style comes in Blond, Brunette & *Redhead*. There is a black-haired dressed doll and they had 3 outfits in boxes. One with jeans, teeshirt, red plaid shirt, suede jacket & boots; one with Pin-Stiped Suit; one with print shirt, slacks, casual jacket & sandles. I've got to get a redhead Matt! Can't wait for them to come out... Will you be carrying these, Barb? Sorry this was so long. It was a fun day! (Only disappointment, I wanted to get the new 5th Fashion Doll Makeovers book & Reverie Press only had #1-4. Sigh! Barb save a copy for me, please.) Have a great Labor Day Weekend, all! Kari scans

HI All, Here are the promised scans of the backs of the Kari Michell boxes. I put a zipper in the dress, and it is so hot on Chic escape. Will take pics of that later. The dolls, of course, went immediately into the Goodwill box. Ick. I saw , at our store called 'Big Lots', the Keri Michell doll...the doll isn't much but her clothes aren't bad. I saw one in a black 'leather' car coat kind of thing that looked promising but the real news is that she comes in these larger sets with 4 outfits,..now they are something! for just $9.98 There are 3 sets that are mostly casual clothes with the doll in the middle wearing a long skirted outfit that's OK but the real news are the casual clothes. There's a dk brown /beige set with some suede like clothes, the slack outfits are great. There's a blk ' set with that same leather look coat in it, plus leather look pants ( one is snake skin ) & neat sweaters & a burgandy colored set that's a lot like the blk one except it substitutes the snakeskin with a 'velvet' look.. Ea set contains a long & a short coat. The long coat barely fits Barbie but does better on Teen age skipper type as the Keri doll is a tad smaller than BArbie. The rest of the clothes that are knit fit anyone pretty well There's a purse for ea. outfit that is quite nice plus a pr. of shoes for each outfit that are really neat. Tho the shoes looked too small , they do fit Barbie's skinny foot tho not Skippers sl. wider one..except for a pr of ankle boots which just is too small for them all ..except Keri....I got the burgandy set cause I liked the color best. The slacks go on fairly smoothly esp. the 'leather'. the tops are knits & pretty great tho you have to place plastic over splayed hands as they catch the knit threads I'm trying to find some pic. on the net of her but so far no luck , I know I saw her once somewhere on someone's site...anyone know whose? P at

OT: re Kari Michell

Hi Pat and all, I picked up ALL three of the Kari Michell sets. They have really neat things in them. The brown one has a gorgeous long slinky dress that is on my chic escape right now. I still need to redo the back, as that is one of the few that didn't have an opening in the back. The dolls that come with these sets have heads that you can take off and slip the clothes over. If you buy the single dolls, they really are not made to take off. I will have a black snakeskin outfit extra if any one is interested, as I bought the doll with it awhile back, and it was in the black set too. These sets were originally available in Canada, but for some reason Big lots is getting them. Well worth the money though. Kathy M. P.S. I had several of the pairs of shoes on Chic Escape as well.
