They're the initials for each of the doll's names: Constance, Cara, Claire, Colin. The E is their middle name and the D is the last name for each doll. And honestly, I'm more into the jointing so I haven't commited the names to memory. Hi all,
I just had one stupid question - what does CED mean?
Thanks, Karla ----- Original Message ----- From: "pat brown" nqsqurtz@mail.staffnet.com To: candichat@dolls.de Sent: Tuesday, April 01, 2003 11:32 AM Subject: Re: Veronique & Adele/doll jointing
It's funny about these CED dolls. From my perspective, aside from just being a staunch supporter, I have to admit, collectors seem to have very strong reactions to the outfits and the dolls themselves. The facial screenings have received mixed reviews, the outfits seem to leave
collectors
unphased, and the zeal with which collectors seem to engage in
redressing
the dolls with their own sewn fashions is quite commonplace. As I have never tried to design a doll fashion, I can understand the versatility
of
the mannequin these dolls provide for the fashion doll coutiere is a lot
of
fun. For me, the historical value of the dolls suffices.
Kathy or others, have you encountered controversial discussions on any
of
the remake boards, with the burgeoning business of taking paint of faces
of
dolls and collectors redesigning dolls? I'm gathering that this is
becoming
a somewhat hot topic? Regards, pat ----- Original Message ----- From: Choic4guys@aol.com To: candichat@dolls.de Sent: Sunday, March 30, 2003 6:44 PM Subject: Re: Veronique & Adele/doll jointing
Actually, I do not like Colin's outfit at all. It is hard for me to appreciate the style because for such an expensive outfit I like to
have
details that show true skill (i.e. beautifully fitted garments,
tailoring,
etc). The best part is the built in corselette which laces in the
back.
I
think it they should have done an empire waisted bodice but fitted
with
princess seams instead of just using a strip of fabric with a bow
around
it.
I plan on making her a suit but I have been very busy working on 11.5" fashion doll clothing lately (in addition to everything else). You all will be seeing a few of my doll designs very soon and I have
plans
for a lot more too!
