Hi, gang,
I sure could use some cheering up. We just found out
today that our beloved cat, Bandit, who is 16 and 1/2 years old, has cancer.
It started near his lungs and has metastasized into his liver so it's
terminal. No chemo will help or cure. We brought him home from the critical
care animal hospital this afternoon. He's not in any pain as of yet but we
don't want it to get to that point so we have to do the right thing by him
sometime this week. Our poor kitty is just getting so thin. This is the only
part of pet ownership that I hate. No matter from what perspective you
approach this, it is SO hard when their time comes and it's been many, many
years since I've had to do this. Any feedback would be most appreciated.
We've had him as part of our family since we got engaged so he's been with us
throughout our entire marriage (since he was a kitten). Of our whole bunch
he's the 1st pet we both had together and Bill's and my hearts are
breaking over having to say goodbye.
