Argh! Only $275? This is drastically low from the good ole days. Kind of in a way I'm glad though. I know my logic on the matter may seem weird, but having a doll that is worth so much more than what it originally retailed puts my mind to thinking I should sell the doll for the profit I could make. But then I feel kind of sad at the prospect of selling a doll I like because I see a profit. I much prefer selling dolls I don't like for a profit. The problem is, seems like others feel the same way and then there are too many of that doll and no profits for any of us. It really does get back to the basics of collecting to buy what we like and not worry about the money, so long as the purchase gives us enjoyment.
But I still have a lot of doll stuff I would like to do something with creatively. And I'd like the space, too. It's the business of thinking I have big plans for some dolls to makeover that I keep hanging on to them. Haven't you all heard this harrangue from me before? Yawn. TTYAll later. Hi!
I am not surprised. IMO, a few years into the Gene line AD just started doing way too many different dolls and overproducing almost all of them. The first couple of years I loved the dolls and bought a few but after I felt they started over doing it I sold all of them. I'm sure I'll add one to my collection again eventually.
I have a couple of friends, we used to travel around and do doll shows together. One of them had a Gene Premeir and finally sold it for about $275.
