See, I've heard about the customizers list. Is this the list moderated by Jim Farone or is it a different one? Anyway, I know there's a customizers list and I know they do those swaps a lot. If I had time, I'd love to be on that list--like you, to get my own collection of one-of-a-kinds. I know Kathy is always doing something.
I still want to know how any customizer works out the time involved doing their dolls. It takes me forever right now. And I could fiddle with this artistic endeavor to the exclusion of my house falling down, too!
I do have mixed feelings about a Candi customizing swap because the only swap done on this list, aside from the travel box, was disappointing for me. There were an odd number of participants and I don't know if the person I swapped with was committed to the theme of the swap--it did require putting some elbow-grease into the design. While I got a package from the swapper, I didn't get a Candi fashion doll, but a Kira and a lot of trinkets totally unrelated to creating a dressed Candi that represented where each of us were from--a tie -in with Candi's international essence. The few others in the swap were getting such neat dolls. I don't know if there were others who might've been disappointed, too, because I don't know if anyone other than Anja knew who the swappers were. Unless there's a real commitment to do the work, a half-baked effort is not fun.

I am trying to find MY own unique style...it hasn't quite gelled...yet. I'll know when it does and then boy...I'll be on a roll, creating like crazy!! LOL.
As for buying any of these wonderful OOAKs I look at...man, I can barely afford to keep up with my REGULAR doll collecting habit! LOOL!
The SWAP idea really appeals to me. That's probably the only way I am going to have anyone else's OOAK dolls in my collection! There seems to be a lot of swapping going on in CustomDolls...as a matter of fact, our Kathy M. swapped her beautiful "Martini" from the recent Cocktail Contest. Did you see her, Pat? I don't recall her "Poison Ivy" doll...I'll have to check out her website.

How many people were in on the swap, Pat?...do you recall?
I don't see why we couldn't organize something similar...it would be interesting and fun. Is Anja still around?...I haven't read any posts from her...and does anyone know even approximately how many (active) members there are?
Would any other members be interested in say.....a SPRINGTIME OOAK Candi SWAP??
