Pat...
Take some dolls out, brush their hair...touch them and enjoy them!
I'm with Sisu on most points, except I don't throw out ALL the boxes.
Some of the nicer ones I keep. I have about three shelves in my linen closet which are reserved for boxes (I have no idea what I will do if/when I run out of space!)I also display some boxes BEHIND the dolls...like the Candi COVER GIRLS boxes are closed and behind the dolls. My MiKelman boxes are hanging on the wall in my 'doll closet'. I opened them, and put a push pin inside to hang it on the wall...then slid the lid on. They look really neat like this!
I have a HUGE doll closet that my fiance set up for me...it has 4 big shelves...all just for dolls. It has bi-fold doors, so we can keep it open for display or closed.
I have dolls in my living room and in my dining room, on open shelves...three in a sort of open buffet and two shelves which I put up.
In my living room, I have a big shelving unit which my father and I made. It has assorted porcelain dolls, my pottery and raku, my Russian Nesting dolls, and other collectibles.
As if this weren't enough...my sewing/painting has begun to take over the living room, so Steven set up ANOTHER shelving unit for that...and some of the dolls I use to model my work has spread out on to two other shelves! haha....
I am continually changing my dolls...when I am not using them to model my fashions, I have them in others' work. I have bought A LOT of stuff off other sellers in e-Bay and am REALLY enjoying seeing them dressed differently. I am not quite as organized as Sisu, when it comes to seasons...my dolls just wear whatever I enjoy looking at!
ALL dolls get rotated depending on my moods, my favourite at the time, and whatever makes me happy.
After my close call with that flood...and the realization that I could have lost all of my dolls, I now want to enjoy them while I can!
Elizabeth
