Hello Melissa,
Thank you for your warm welcome!! (And thank you to everyone so far, who have made me feel welcome...I really appreciate it).
I am glad to hear that it's good to have a new voice...and if it's been a bit quiet lately, well then, I might be a bit noisy!!
I am happy to have found this forum, as I am driving my boyfriend insane, (as well as a few friends) always talking about this doll or that facial screening, etc...LOL.
My favourite dolls keep changing as I discover new ones...and I collect the 11 1/2" and the taller 15" fashion dolls (they are easier to create fashions for).
First off, I have to say that a lot of these dolls are new to me, as they aren't available here...so I would never say... happen upon them in a store. Also, it gets quite costly collecting...as I pay high shipping and the exchange rate is insane right now!(I'm Canadian).
However, I do find some wonderful deals...and let's face it...these beauties are worth it!! I can often be found just staring at my dolls...(he-he)...they give me such peace and a feeling of wonderfulness that I can't explain!
The first 2 dolls I purchased were online from Suzanne (Doll Dreams & Cuddly Things). They were a RETRO CHARICE and the MANDARIN CHIC JADE. (This Jade is gorgeous!!) The beauty & great quality of these dolls, mixed with the great experience in dealing with Suzanne is what got me started...
Then, I discovered "BAGGIES"...look-out! These are perfect for me: less expensive and I don't feel guilty de-boxing or removing their fashions! SIMPLY CHIC ALYSA is one that I bought first...Pink Hair and the Brunette--they are SO lovely!
I recently got a BLUE-HAIRED CHARICE, which I absolutely adore!! I immediately made a sexy, blue, short dress and a white, fun-fur wrap for her. I also decked her out in beautiful sapphire and silver handmade matching necklace, earrings, bracelet and headpiece (sort of a modern tiara). I really do love MiKelman's make-up...very beautiful!
I got the AA VINTAGE CANDI last week and I really love her as well. She has the darkest skin-tone of any I have ever seen--she's awesome!
JAKKS PACIFIC G.I.R.L. Force dolls are great--what bodies!! The only problem with them (I find) is that they can sometimes look 'awkward' in fashions and also, any velour outfits I put on leave a mess on their sticky bodies. My favourite is my Body Art LOLA...I made a 2 piece, very skimpy (gotta' show off that body!) burgundy panne-velour halter and mini-skirt. She looks HOT!
My boyfriend really likes the GIRL Force dolls (gee, wonder why? he-he), my favourite Jakks Pacific dolls are ELLE, though. I wish they would make more. I only 6 so far.
Yes, I have seen the Yue Sai Wa Wa dolls (thanks Melissa, it was because of your earlier e-mail, I believe). I have one thing to say about them: I WANT THEM!!! They look awesome and they seem like a very good price.
I have to admit, I have been buying some Barbies lately as well. I really like the Reproduction ones, and the exclusive and special edition ones. Although my fav. recent purchase was actually a pink box: CHRISTIE AND KEELY...I gave my daughter the dog, I just wanted that Christie with her fabulous hair!!!
Oh geeze, I HAVE rambled.....sorry if this has bothered anyone...and if it hasn't, please feel free to ramble back!
Have a great night everyone! Elizabeth ~biz000art~-CREATIONS

Hello, Elizabeth! Welcome to CandiChat! This is a great group of doll collectors, though it's been a little quiet recently. It's good to have a new voice. What are your favorite Candis, Integrity dolls, Jakks Pacific dolls? I also collect all those & B*rbie as I love all the different faces. Have you seen the new Yue Sai Wa Wa dolls? www.yuesaiwawa.com. Melissa (in MD)
Hello all,
I thought I would just introduce myself. I have
never
joing a mailing list...that is, until I saw one
for
Candi Dolls.
My name is Elizabeth Brookman and I live in
Canada.
I used to collect B*rbie dolls as a child and lost interest in my teens. My interest was completely renewed in dolls when I saw some Integrity dolls
on
auction in e-Bay. From there I found Candi dolls
and
a multitude of other larger fashion dolls...
...6 months later, my collection of Candis; Jakks Pacific dolls; Alysa, Jade, Janay and other
fashion
dolls has grown to over 80 !! Yes, that's over 13 dolls per month and it's driving my boyfriend a
bit
crazy (although he did build me a super-huge doll display cabinet, as they were taking over the
living
and dining rooms and our bedroom, LOL).
I have to slow down on the collecting, as it was getting a bit out of hand. Soon I will be selling more than I am buying, on e-Bay. :)
I design fashions and accessories for all of my fashion dolls. Hopefully in the New Year I will
have
a better web-site for viewing/purchasing my
Original
Fashions, Accessories and Custom dolls.
Currently, I
make hand-beaded fashions and jewelry sets with a friend who makes and sells B*rbie fashions on
e-Bay.
Seller ID: KIDDLY WINKS Please come and check-out our stuff sometime...and look for me soon, under the ID: biz000art, selling other fashion doll original fashion and
accessories.
I hope this hasn't bored you... I look forward to meeting/e-mailing fellow Candi lovers. If anyone wants to e-mail/introduce themselves to me, I would love that!
Thanks! Elizabeth (aka biz000art)
