This is not about "language features to facilitate interfacing to a specific platform API" but about interfacing to Objective-C. The interfaces of GNUStep for example are also written in Objective-C. I detest Objective-C, but we have to cope with the fact that software is written in it. The same problem exists for headers written in C++. A. van Os
