Is the mailing list software smart enough to detect a prefix after "Re:", or would a couple of replies back and forth yield "[GPC] Re: [GPC] Re: [GPC] Re: [GPC] Problem"?
I suppose it's smart enough, but I haven't tested this.
Related to this: per Frank's note, I had altered my settings to have the reply-to set to the list. However, in responding to this message, the reply-to was automatically set to Chuck's address. I gather that the list manager defers to the message originator's choice (i.e., a "Reply-To" header in the original message) rather than mine (i.e., I want all replies from me to go to the list, unless explicitly overridden). That's rather unfortunate, as it means that I still have to check the response address carefully to avoid misdirecting my mail.
Also here I'm not sure. What I'd prefer personally in this case is to put both addresses, the given Reply-To and the list address, in the final Reply-To header, but I don't know if/how this can be achieved.
I'm copying this mail to Anja, perhaps she can tell more.
