The latter one; but `gpc-conf.h' from `MSDOS' is certainly a good starting point.

If you succeed to compile gpc-971001 for EMX I would be glad if you send your changes to me, upload a binary distribution to ftp://agnes.dida.physik.uni-essen.de/incoming and let me know that it is there, so I can move it in place. Unfortunately, I am a little short of time at the moment, ...
