My problem right now is that I do not feel called to any particular expression of an institutional church, but I feel called by God to preach
and teach and
minister to God's gospel. I feel a definite prophetic leaning in my
calling,
but I have come to realize that prophets can make very unsuccessful
pastors
in churches that are rooted/rutted/embedded/comfortably sleeping in their
own
traditions without any connection to its purpose in the gospel scheme of things. Sometimes I feel like most of my friends are on the fringes of
the church
(or not in it) and all my enemies are. I'm not afraid of speaking out to
a
post modern world; I am afraid the modern remnant will castrate me before
I can.
