Hi Peter,
thanks for your answers.

Currently there isn't. To all: Should there be one?
I don't know what you guys need, and that's what counts, after all. Still it would make life easier for people like me encountering some problems, 'cause I could skim the archive first (so a searchable archive would be really nice :-). Also I don't know if you send replies to the list only - in that case it would help, since not everybody like me wants to subscribe the list (there are to many already). With an archive I would just recheck every few days wethere there is a answer.
I try to compile a gcc-2.95.1 patched/extended by the gpc-19990813 sources/patch. (Same results with plain gcc-2.95.)
This cannot work. Support for gcc-2.95.x in gpc-19990813 is work in progress and not yet stable. However, gpc-19990813 does work with gcc-2.8.x or egcs-1.1.x.
Well, I read about that alpha version - just wanted to look in and thought I let you know... I read some stuff on the egcs ml as well. Anyhow, it hasn't worked with egcs-1.1.2 (I think that was the one I used) for me as well. I don't have any egcs sources around right now, but I will get back to try it and will send in the problems I get. (IIRC it was just the same, not sure about that, though.)
Right now I am using the binaries from the gpc ftp page, they are working nice for me.
Next thing I would like to see is a gcc-3.0 including gpc :-)
Btw: If this is still of any interest, I could help setting up a cvs repository for gpc. In case it will be incorporated into gcc really soon, there is no need, but otherwise... I have a 486 that is our dedicated cvs server, I could create a repository there, that is a slow but doable solution. Moreover I could set it up somewhere else, if you provide me with a user login and the admin is willing to do some work as well.
Anyway: Good work guys, keep on going, -- Jochen Jochen.Kuepper@FernUni-Hagen.de http://www-public.rz.uni-duesseldorf.de/~jochen

I am approaching integration (and a new snapshot working with gcc-2.95.x) now ...

Thanks. (-:

Nice. I'll check it out tomorrow (online w/o modem :-).

I can do some testing on Linux/AXP, let me know whenever you are interested in some feedback from that architecture. Integration into GCC would be great, nice to hear you're making progress. Good luck.
