You have to use the context (or subcontext) you want to merge with the png image. (The NULL context only refers to the actual context).

BTW have you ever seend ET4000 using svgalib?? Cos it seems that the only vga mode it load is 300*200:((((

Sorry, I don't know why. But, can you enable the framebuffer?, GRX has a driver for it.
