Sharing some Candi....

Hi Everyone, I wanted to share Candi with you... Actually, I did something that probably most of you would cringe at, but I tried to straighten my Vintage Candi's bubble hair(I have never been fond of that style)...it didn't straighten completely, but I like it better. As an aside, I will be carrying the new 12" vinyl Lollipop Girls by Jan McLean. These whimsical creatures are adorable and I couldn't resist them, LOL! Special pre-order pricing is in effect, if any of you are considering them. I have been told that the first shipment due to arrive mid to late July will have decals with Jan McLean's signature on the boxes. Later issues aren't supposed to bear the signature. They are also not going to be carried in any major chains, at least for this year. I would assume that means they aren't closing the door to doing this somewhere down the road but the lady I spoke with didn't know for sure if an appearance in a major chain will ever take place. There are plans to do fashions and accessories in the future for these girls, too. I doubt we will see them before 2003 from what I was told but at least we know they are in the works. Hi Colin, If you read the message from Suzanne W, she stated that she had talkde to Helena and that the HIspanic doll was used only for the promo pics to get them out to dealers, I believe the sets wil be the hispanic, Israeli, Russian, asian, if I am right! TTYS Kevin

HI All, Finally got over the Mikelmans to look at the new sets. I would say that we won't see these sets produced as is, if Mattel gets a look at them! They look waaaay to much like the silkstone sets for them to sit still on this one. Cute outfits though, but at $50.00 a pop, I don't think I will bring many home. The accessory sets are cute, but pricey, esp the shoes. I mean $20.00 for 6 pairs of shoes? The little boxes are cute, but I definetely could do without those at the price. Will be interesting to see what happens on these. I think I too will stick with Integrity and Jason. Did everyone see the nice write up on them in the last Barbie Bazaar? I've checked into this and this is what Helena told me today. These sets aren't due to appear until September. They aren't Paul David Exclusives and will be available to other dealers. Artwork and ordering information packet is supposed to be on the way to me and other Candi dealers. She told me that the 4 gift sets can be ordered by dealers with the new bent arm body, or the standard straight arm Candi body. I was also told that only the Hispanic was photographed in the sets in order to get artwork on them to dealers now. When the sets are mass produced the plan is to use 4 head molds, Hispanic, Israeli, Russian and Asian. I was told the plan is to use the Israeli in La Bella Salsa; Hispanic in Mint Julip; Asian in Vanilla Skies and Russian in Astor Suit. Hope this helps. Hi everybody... That's a good question! I have to admitt that I buy too much at the moment! And I have so many dolls on preoder this year... I am totally addicted to tyler and friends. So I preordered a lot of the dolls that are limited to 2000 pieces. Sheer glamour sydney chase is my favorite. And the new Mei Li with short hair.... I also love the new dolls with long curly hair. I already own RTW sping tyler and she is so stunning. She just has everything I love: red curly long hair, brown eyes, no bending arms... I also got the new cherry blossom jade and I will get backstage pass paris and golden lothus paris. I just love ethnic dolls! And there are still so many other dolls that I love: the silkstone barbies, the new candi dolls and the barbie play line dolls such as lea and kayla etc. Not to mention all those wonderful dolls that are on sale at the moment! I got grand entrance paris sometime ago and she is just wonderful. One of my favorites is the new basic wheate blonde kitty collier. I bought her a while ago together with the oufit of picture perfect kitty. She looks geat wearing this outfit and she is something totally different in my collection. I could go on and on like this for hours! There are so many wonderful 11 1/2 inch and 15 1/2 inch fashion dolls that it really is difficult to decide which one to buy... I also have to admitt that at the moment I buy less barbie dolls and more of the bigger ones. Maybe that's because I've waited so long for such dolls. Dolls like tyler and all the other 15 1/2 inch fashion dolls are still relatively difficult to find and expensive here in germany. So I am allways very happy and proud when I get a doll for less money in the USA... There is still 26% duty and tax to pay for every merchandise and that makes it expensive again... I can only assume that Ohio is closer to New York than the other cities to which the packets were mailed.
