Hi All, Thanks for forwarding Helena's letter Suzanne. It is unfortunate that she is having to apologize for Paul, but it seems to be a usual occurance. Just one more thing that makes me refuse to do business with the man. I just can't stand his attitude, and I hate to say it, but the dolls in his add are nothing compared to the incredible work Jason is doing with Candi. I am so spoiled! But for the record, the disclaimer regarding Mr. David placed in the CANDI® advertisement in the recent Barbie Bazaar magazine was not acceptable by Hamilton Toymakers. Integrity Toys and Mr. David are obviously having a hard time working out their differences. I'm sure they will. But using our products as a forum to place disclaimers will never do. Hamilton Toymakers would like to formally apologize for the indiscretion. We did not see the ad before it went to print, nor did we approve the ad. However, the out come was still the same- "Formal Negative Advertising at the consumers expense." As the owners of the CANDI® license and the CANDI® doll we are responsible for the behavior of our licensees. And I assure you this will not happen again. We have alerted Barbie Bazaar magazine, and other magazines to the problem. We will send approvals not only to our licensees, but to the magazine directly. for all ads placed in their magazine from now on. Once again we truly apologize for the indiscretion. My Mrozcko Original--It's in the Details

After a few years of admiring a Poison Ivy that Kathy once shared a photo with the List, I finally broke down and arranged to have her make a second one. I must admit, the thought of buying one more doll, while I've still got so many to sell, just made me ill. But I'm most happy to report, I am thoroughly pleased with my purchase! This is the first OOAK artist's original doll I've ever purchased. I've wanted to buy OOAK for a long time, but the prices are always way more than I can see paying--though I'm certain many artists' dolls are worth what they get for their work--I still can't afford to part with more than $75 for a doll. But I did finally "jump in the pool" on a Mroczko--it's hard not to do give business to a fellow CandiChatter and one who has shown so much creativity and talent for so long! My Poison Ivy is wonderful. Kathy's attention to details is exactly what I'd do if I could think of all that I'd like to do for one doll. I made sure to open my OOAK in the broad daylight sun so I could inspect everything and the one detail that gave me chills was that she split the fingers on the doll's hand and actually posed them! But other details were equally impressive. She rerooted the hair on a TnT Barbie head with the flame red that I love. She painted the scalp to match the color red of the hair and her precision of the rooting pattern is excellent, thus giving the hair a fullness and evenness. There is also an ivy head band that matches the ivy on the bathy suit. Now you know I hate rooted eyelashes because they always look like caterpillars, but on this doll, they look like they were factory-applied--not too many and they are go perfectly with the flourescent green eyebrows and the delicately drawn flourescent green eyeliner. And there's matching green toe and finger polish. All of the flourescent green paint matches the flourescent green bathing suit with tiny, to-scale ivy leaves attached with green beads and matching green arm gloves. The gloves are delicately attached at the ring finger of the doll just like a real person's glove would be. She's also painted the waist wire of the stand in the flourescent geen to blend in with the green suit. Then there's the hose that have a seam that is handmade. Finally, the luscious velvet green cape with hood is spray painted at the bottom with red flames, and the cape is lined. The base of the stand is spray-painted red and is signed and dated. She includes an artist's card as well. I am very, very satisfied with my purchase and if I never buy another doll, I am so glad I have a Kathy Mrozcko in my collection. Yes, Jason is making the "creative" decisions for the Integrity play line. He has the official title of "head designer". The 2000 play line dolls featured facial screening by Jason with fashion design done by an in house individual. The 2001 play line featured both facial screening and fashion design by Jason. LOL, I know you want me to say who did the 2002 play line now and I'll have to get some clarification on that. I know that Jason did all the facial screenings for all the dolls and the fashions for the collector edition Janays. I am not positive though that he did all the fashions for the 2002 line. I know I saw one line in January that ended up scrapped and I know that those fashions weren't done by Jason but an in house designer. I'll have to find out if this other designer did any of the other fashions or not because I don't see anything in my notes from the meeting that answers this question. No, Integrity is not trying out a marketing scenario. The buyers from the major chains just don't purchase enough play line to furnish all their stores with product. Consequently, the Integrity play line dolls will remain scarce, or even non-existent, in some areas. Even though you aren't buying right now, I'm glad to hear that you liked what you saw, :-). Convention Report

HI All, I am back from Convention, and am finally catching up on sleep. Doesn't seem to be an option while you are there! Got in about noon on Wednesday ( after a grueling one hour drive LOL) managed to find our room ( not an easy feat, as the hotel is HUGE) and got to our first workshop on time. The workshop was great, and I heard that the other ones were fun as well. First night was the Go Go Gathering. It was mostly standing around talking etc. Stayed for while, and then hurried up to the room to get set up for some room sales. Stayed open till midnight, but had some nice sales. Thursday morning the souvenier room opened early, but had quite a line, and a little problem, as the bank had not shown up with their change, and the credit card machine wasn't working. Did get one of the great T-shirts and some cool mod patches though. We then attended the first timers orientation. Well worth the time, as we had some extra info for several events. After that it was time to dress for the Fashion show luncheon. Came to the table to find it loaded with gifts. The club gave us the first of 3 super mod outfits, the mod Francie book, and a doll fashion manequin. Our delightful table hosts had also given us a goodie bag packed with edible goodies from Maine, and some really cute doll things. We could hardly stager back to the room with the loot! The fashion show was terrific, and the kids from the Charity Angels Unaware participated, and were the hit of the show. That evening we had a dinner at a local restaurant with members of the Custom doll list that I am on. Got back in time to do a quick check on the silent auction dolls, and go get ready for the Mattel program. The room was decorated beautifully, and the table had some lovely deserts on it. Mattel program had a live Malibu Barbie and Ken ( Ken was brunette?), but it was cute. Then they had a really obnoxious band play. Many people were unhappy with that. I could have handled it better had they turned down the volume. We finally found a Kleenex, and split it up for ear plugs, and then it was bearable! Had to sit through it thought to get the Mattel gift of a Malibu Barbie with a special patch on her beach towel, a cup, pen, and camera all with the Malibu logo on them. Then back to room for more room sales. Friday morning I got up and placed my dolls in the competition room. We had time after that, so we walked to the Molly Brown house, and cruised a great used book store. Came home by way of the Brown palace hotel, and gawked at the lobby there. Came back, and had a picnic lunch in our room. After lunch I went down to see how the competition went. My poor Black Francie didn't win a thing ( she is still sulking. You can see her pic on the Mattel site though. Got a gift certificate that had to be spent in the sales room. Aw rats, had to shop! Then had to change and get ready for the dance. Came in to find another table loaded with gifts. Grand Entrance Barbie from KB, another cool mod outfit, a darling beanie bear, more goodies from our table mates etc. Had a terrific Lasagne for dinner, and then there was a darling program by Joe Blitman on mod Barbie. For the dance we were supposed to go accross the street to a bar, but from what I heard, it was pretty loud and smokey, so not a lot of people went. Room sales were more fun anyway. Saturday morning was fairly open, but we needed to pack and get our things down to the car, as we were checking out that day, and had to do it by noon. Just too cheap to pay for another night! Got all our stuff schlepped to the car, and put our stuff for the evening in a friends room. Checked on the silent auction dolls again ( my doll ended up bringing $100 by the way) Walked down the 16th street mall for fun. Had another picnic lunch and basically killed time trying not to room shop some more ( failed in that, but oh well) Went in to the final night dinner to find everyone looking really sharp. Another table loaded with gifts ( do you see a theme here?) the last of the cool mod outfits, a cutie of a doll from our table hosts, a sweet set of pins from the club, and a couple of more cute items from table mates. I presented my OOAK doll to my table host, and passed out the last of my gifts. Had another lovely dinner, then sat through all the thankyous that must go with an event like this. They announced the site for the 2005 convention ( Boston) and then had the silent auction. Some lovely dolls, but prices were a little lower than in past years. Melissa Windhams doll brought $6000 ( she was at our table, by the way, that was fun) the doll from Katianna Jimenez ( a mattel designer) brought $6300, I think. Something like that. And finally it was time for the unveiling. They passed out the convention dolls, still wrapped in tissue, and we had to wait to open it. Worth every minute of the wait though. Cute as can be doll in black and white. Dorinda Balienkie (sp?) was there and graciously offered to sign all the dolls, so we waited in line for that. It was a grand time, and I urge anyone who can to attend at least one. Especially, if they are in your area. Will try and post just a little more tomorrow, mostly about room sales, and purchases.
