HI All, Well I think its a SAFE bet that Ms. Hamilton has burned so many bridges with various doll manufacterers, I would bet dollars to donuts she is gonna have one helluva time finding anyone to put up with her -- expletive deletive, BUT along that same line I have heard thru RUMOR that Paul David wanted to be involved in manufactering Candi again, cant say for positive about that though but wouldnt at all surprise me. Does anyone know the actual name of the company that helped her the first time around with Candi getting them manufactered?? I know Hamilton toys was her company but they arent the actual makers of the doll themselves, or were they? TTYS Kevin

legalities ...

Hello, I was just wondering if anybody knows the legalities of using Barbie as a model when selling fashion doll clothes. I want to do some post cards and other material. As long as I mention that I am in no way affiliated or associated with Mattel am I safe? I know Mattel defends their copyright, and rightfully so but I do use Barbie as my model. I know a lot of people who do OOAK's used to advertise in Barbie Bazaar but I also seem to remember some getting in trouble for copyright infringement. I just looked through the magazine and don't see ads from anybody that is not a Mattel dealer with an ad using Barbie. I would love to converse about this and learn more. Sincerely, Randall Craig

Exclusive Fashion?

I believe that is five people who have said yes so far. Of course it would have to be to fit the Candi/Fashion Royalty/Integrity dolls. I'd rather not do stretchy material as I preferred to do tailored clothing. BUT everything is open for discussion. The first step is just to see if we have enough interest. If there is enough then we'll need to talk design ideas. I have a connection for manufacturing in Columbia and, depending on how many we need, I would prefer to have them done there. Of course they would have to be made meet my very high quality standards. Accessories would be great but we would have to find a resource for them and it is tough to find accessories that are of good enough quality so that they add to an outfit instead of detracting. Pricing cannot be determined until we have decided on a design, materials, accessories, etc. I hope that we will be able to make a go of this! Randall

I just received a MFD catalog (which is an excellent catalog BTW with a fabulous selection of dolls inlcuding Candi and FR). I just wanted to mention that I am very impressed with the articulated Alex dolls. Although I'm not a fan of Alex in general (I don't like her face mold) I am a huge fan of jointed dolls. I think I like the black doll and the asian doll (w/ the artuculated bodies of course) the best. Have any of your bought one yet? I'd love to hear reviews. Randall

OT: watch out

Hey, I have been just a little freaked out. A week or so ago I was logged onto AOL and got a message saying that somebody signed on to another computer using my account name. I was a bit puzzled so I signed on again and everything seemed fine (I figured it was just a fluke). A few moments later it did the same thing. The problem was the account is in my husband's name and he was working so I had no way of contacting AOL as only the main account holder has access. I didn't think anything else about it until today when I went to my "sent mail" account and found about 100 spam/porn e-mails sent from my e-mail address! I've contacted AOL and notified them of the problem and am just hoping that everything works out and have also changed by passwords. Although I'm sure this is a rare incident, I just wanted to give you all a head's up to beware. Sincerely, Randall Craig
