Thanks group, for your comments about my accessory display. Very supportive and validating. Non-dolly people don't "get it" and some are down right condescending about a grown woman playing with dolls . I don't make fun of stamp collectors or butterfly collectors... though, in truth, I don't "get it" lol
Well, I'm heading off to Suz's site to see if any of those dollies you're talking about belong under my tree this Christmas.

Hi Robin and everyone
The net has been a great place for me to meet other dolly collectors and learn more about them etc. Sometimes I wish I had friends here who also share a passion for dolls but alas no - I'm sure we've all experienced that kind of glazed over look when you start talking dollies to a non-collector. At least my b/f understands as he's a model train collector - LOL - we're both just big kids.

Hello Lunar,
I agree with you!...the Internet IS great for meeting other collectors. I laughed out loud with your description:
"I'm sure we've all experienced that kind of glazed over look when you start talking dollies to a non-collector."
Absolutely!...and my boyfriend is very understanding/patient as well, but I know he really isn't as interested in, or is touched with the same intensity towards dolls as I am. I am glad to have the opportunity to discuss dolls with other people who are as interested as well, rather than load it all on him, all of the time. LOL.
P.S. As for the Internet being a great place to meet other doll collectors....it is also good for romance. That is how I met my boyfriend! (Yahoo Personals).

Hi Elizabeth
How cool - I met my b/f through the internet as well. Not through a romance site but just through a general chat site but we just hit it off so well.
Darren might not appreciate dolls as I do but then I guess I am the same with his trains. LOL.

My 36 yr. old son ( has a 5 yr old son himself) went tru a divorce earlier this year ( his ex said that tho he was a good husband & father, she didn't want to be married anymore ) and has just felt like resuming dating . He also tried the internet & unfort. has met some unbelievable females. One who now won't leave him alone & has became vaguely threatening. & oh the stories he tells of what his friends try to fix him up with. My favorite & this is NO joke...is a fellow coworker, female, who says she has a nice girl she wants him to meet......as soon as she has the baby....that's right , the girl is pregnant & oh yeah, she's 22 but likes 'older ' men ( my son wants to know since when is 36 old ) Seems like she was impregnated by a 40 something yr. old married man...she's looking for a father figure. My son says, O h yeah, that's just what I need now....his life these past few years, would make a great soap opera.
Pat
Pat I agree - 36 ain't old at all. I did have to laugh about the pregnant girl story. The net can be so good in many ways but you do also get the not so good sometimes. I think you do need to be careful with meeting people you met on the net. I consider myself one of the lucky ones who met a real nice, loving, decent guy and I wasn't even looking for romance. I hope your son finds his soulmate soon.

don't lose your inner child or outer, for that matter. I collect lots of stuff in add. to all kinds of dolls...mostly mini things as I believe that's what attracts me to the dolls in the 1st place, I have stuffed animals, tea sets ( mini) mice figures& other little animals, some mini Snow Babies, lots of Xmas orn. My husband has old & new toys such as metal cars & airplanes esp. & books coming out of the ying yang esp. on military subjects & military paraphernalia ( I had to look up the spelling of that word) Pat H. In Al.
Hi Pat
I can't see myself stop being a big kid anytime soon - it's too much fun! At one time I was collecting ornaments on mythical things such as unicorns, dragons, wizards - that sort of thing. I've got a few scale model cars and just put another on lay-by - but for me the dollies have really taken over. LOL
