Hello everyone,
I just joined CandiChat before the holidays. My name is Dawn Bastian, and I live in Colorado. I finally acquired my first Candi doll, the "Holiday Toast" Danish, and I really love her. The silk dupioni (my favorite fabric) dress is lovely and the accessories are great. I couldn't resist getting another Candi right away, so I've ordered the "Waltz at the Waldorf" Candi from the New York Collection, as well as the "Winter Mist" and "Gold Rush" fashions.
I first discovered Candi when I saw ads in a magazine (Barbie Bazaar, I think) years ago, when she was produced by Hamilton. I was very intrigued and wanted to buy one, but I just never got around to it--probably because there were no collectible dolls shops or shows in the area I lived at that time. Then the ads disappeared and I found out later the dolls had too. I was very disappointed, so I'm thrilled now that Integrity Toys and Jason Wu have partnered to bring her back to us!
I also collect Takara Jenny and friends, which I love, but I also appreciate the more mature look of Candi. I also have a handful of Genes, two Tylers, several Alexes, and two Eves. As you can see, fashion dolls are my favorites.
I look forward to seeing what new dolls will be coming out this year, and to reading your posts to this list.

Hello to all you new collectors ( to our site that is). I've been collecting the Candi doll from almost when she 1st appeared years ago. And Paul David may have been hard to deal with but Mikelman sure had done a marvelous job in upgrading C andi's makeup & all. And now Jason has really come up with great ideas & designs for her & the other Integrity dolls . How long has Candichat been on now, cause I have been with it from the start, was it 1998? And I was on Candiland before that...woo, went thru a lot of stuff then! Pat Hawkins in Al.
Hi Dawn
It's nice to meet you. I'm pretty new here to as well as collecting Candi. I'm thinking of ordering the HT Danish as well. Like that orangey hair and I don't have a Candi with that hair colour. Hoping to get the Winter Mist fashion as well. I've got the gold rush and it looks great on the International AA Candi.

Hi Lunar,
Nice to meet you too. I have to tell you that one really neat thing about the HT Danish's orangey hair is that it has lovely subtle streaks in a slightly lighter shade that you cannot see in pictures!
I'll provide a review of the Winter Mist fashion after I receive it.

Hi Dawn
Oftentimes a picture doesn't do a doll justice does it? They look even more beautiful once you get them. Now I really gotta get the Danish HT Candi..LOL

Welcome, Dawn! I fell in love with Candi during the Barbi* moratorium several years ago & have been following her ever since. I also am soooo glad that Jason & Integrity have been able to resurrect her & bring her to new life... I also am a fashion doll collector-Barbi*, Gene, Candi, Charice, Alysa, Jade, Janay, etc... Hello and welcome Dawn,
I'm fairly new to this list as well, and have been collecting Candi dolls old and new, (as well as Charice and Integrity's Alysa, Jade and Janay dolls) since I first discovered them about 8 months ago. I love them all!
I also collect Barbies, but do not find them as beautiful as the Candi dolls. I mostly use these for selling fashions/jewelry and doing makeovers/customizing.
I have a few Gene dolls, as well as Willow & Daisy, and a few Elle dolls. I would really love to get an Eve doll and a Brenda Starr. Does Eve look as beautiful in person?...I've only seen a few photos.
Well...once again, welcome--I think you'll you'll enjoy this list--everyone I have met so far has been great and really friendly!

Thanks to you and everyone else for the warm welcome, Elizabeth.
I have to confess I've been admiring the Alysa, Jade and Janay dolls myself. I imagine I will not be able to resist temptation in time and will collect them too!
I have two Eves with the old facepaint. One is the African American doll and she is my favorite. Just gorgeous! I have not yet seen the Eve with the new facepaint in person, but pictures suggest and reports claim she is lovely.
