HI All, Yes, it has been very slow around here. I think people are just busy, and in my case I have had the flu for over a week. Ugh. Finally seem to be kicking that last little bit of cough though. I may survive. LOL Not a lot of new dolls to talk about either. None of the stores here have had anything new since they restocked for Christmas, and there wasn't a lot of new stuff then. I would kill for a new FA or anything. I agree about the birthstone dolls. A new dress would have been nice. I didn't even buy my month the first time around, as she was an insipid blonde. Maybe this time, but I think I would rather save up for one of the lounge Kitties. The new Barbie Bazaar has one on the front, and they are really cute. Enough rambling on. I did want to wish everyone here a happy holiday season, and a joyous and prosperous new year. Here is a little holiday card for everyone.

HI All, Yes, it has been very slow around here. I think people are just
busy,
and in my case I have had the flu for over a week.
I, for one, have been furiously working on my doll collection to give it meaning. I've been buying a lot of older Barbie dolls and redressing them in my older favorite Fashion Avenues from 1995, 1996 and 1997. I've also been selling stuff I now know I do not want anymore. A whole lot eBaying lately.
I would kill for a new FA or anything.
Kathy, do you use the new-body dolls or do you put new Fashion Avenues on older-body dolls? I've found that only stretchy materials can fit over the older-body Barbies. Also, so many of the newer Fashion Avenues are too trendy for my classic tastes. But I did buy that one Fashion Avenue that is the stretchy tee shirt with the picture of the vintage blonde bubble cut Barbie in the design.
The birthstone dolls had me intrigued, but the price deterred me from buying because I've come to the conclusion that if I can't USE the doll in my collection then it just sits in the box--collecting dust. I've been assigning my dolls themes and if a doll can't fit into a particular fashion theme, then it's got to go. I've gotten rid of all my Dolls of the World except unless I like a face sculpt and put that into a fashion I like. I've recently purchased the 1999 Spanish DOTW and the 1998 Chilean DOTW for their faces. The Chilean is going into that International FA that is for Spain. That fashion has been kicking around its box for all these years and at last, I have found the perfect model to show off the fashion. And I'm getting some space out of the deal!
In the coming months I must purchase CatWoman! She will go wonderfully with my OOAK Poison Ivy! Kathy, did you ever get the Munsters giftset? It's come down a bit in price, I see, on eBay.
My favorite doll ready for the holidays.
I was certain your favorite doll was going to be a picture of Grayson in an elf's costume!
Have a happy holiday to all on the CandiChat! Regards, pat Brown
Oh darn, just got back from a few weeks holiday up north and missed it. Sigh....
Hope everyone had a lovely holiday.
