OK, not I have to know. What are the i-dolls?

Speaking of such... did anyone buy any of the i-dolls from Walmart before Christmas? I haven't seen a single one since. Do you think they might have been yanked too?... Melissa
Remember when TRU came out with their Gene knock-off called Haley?
Well,
there's one on eBay right now. It's the first one I have seen for
sale!

Yes! I love them! No, they haven't been yanked. I think they were very popular and given there were only about 10 sets per case and my Walmart only got 2 cases, I'd surmise the manufacturer was trying them out for their popularity and didn't make many. Maybe Walmart was the willing buyer, because I haven't seen them anywhere else. I bought 3. I agree with Pat. I love the Haley dolls. I have two. I bought mine from someone on line who found them at TRU. They were yanked from the shelves shortly after that.

And Randall, the answer to your question what is an I-Girl is that they are an 11.5" sport fashion doll with an emphasis on girls choosing careers as zoologists, photographers, oceanographers and other outdoorsy-type professions. They have jointed bodies like Gymnast Barbies, but they are jointed at the ankles and the wrists, and they do have flat feet--kind of big ones, too, but when you're in the jungle, heels are a hindrance. Aside from the jointed ankles and wrists, the dolls themselves have beautiful faces! Unlike other sport fashion dolls that look muscular, toothy-grinned and not at all feminine, these dolls are fashionably sculpted, too. They were one of my best dolly finds last year. pat ----- Original Message ----- From: Pat Brown nqsqurtz@staffnet.com To: candichat@dolls.de Sent: Wednesday, February 06, 2002 8:25 PM Subject: Re: Haley

Those 'I girls' were placed on sale in the stores here & so we'll prob. never see them again. I missed out on the Haleys. saw them once at just one of our TRU stores & they were yanked off before I could return again to buy The Olmec dolls had large eyes which gave them a young look. I wasn't that in love with them but did get the one with all the hairpieces because I like that kind of stuff & I like to get a representation of dolls other than Barbie, esp. ethnic dolls . ( for this reason , I first got in to collecting Candi & the fact she is the most gorgeous doll ever .esp, my fav. the Hispanic face) Menelik esp. looked like a teen age boy even in the wedding set. He reminded me of the Kevin doll, Skippers boyfriend. That Dream dolls site is operated by Judene isn't it? If so ,She is a dealer of Barbies from way back & should be OK, but I don't really know, since I never bought from her. Pat H. from Al.
