Here's something that might stir up some Candi discussion!

The only one I like is the blond in fur hat. The rest don't do much for me & knowing Hamilton's track record, I wonder if they will ever be produced and what sort of quality they will be... Melissa

I agree with everyone else. I will believe it when I see it. I find it laughable that the word quality can be used with these dolls. I love my old Candis, but I have become totally spoiled by the quality of the Fashion Royalty dolls, and even at their best, Candi didn't come close to that kind of quality. Of course, I admit that the FR dolls have even weaned me off 95% of Mattels products as well. The only new doll I have ordered is the Muffy Roberts doll, and that is just because I love her evil looking leer. Last year, the only one I bought was the Princess of the Navajos, and I gave up the playline when they went to the all new body and big heads. Mattel had better get it together or go the way of Hamilton and Candi! Thank goodness for old dolls to play with!

I'm with you on that one, Kathy. Forget the new body & big head Barbies. I've even stopped buying the Holiday dolls. I just DON'T like those big heads. I mostly buy handmade outfits to redress my favorite dolls in. I still buy some of the DOTW & the International Kellys as folk cultures are what got me started on doll collecting. Melissa

At least Mattels try at making big head Kellys failed right away! Those were the ugliest dolls yet!! Did you see the new international Kelly set? That one was darling, but I wish they had done some different countries. Two of the three were the same as the TRU set from a couple years earlier. The Irish one was worth the whole set though!

I wish they had not repeated right away, too. Paul David had a photo in 2002 of what was supposed to have been the TRU Exclusive 2nd set of Intl Kellys. Looks like it would have been France (Can Can), Mexico & Japan. Too cute! Don't know why they never made it, except that TRU still has some of the original ones marked down... Let's see, it had Kenya (really cute), Dutch & Spanish. The 1st regular set had Scottish (another cutie), Dutch & Spanish. I think the next one to come out will be Irish (another cutie), Swiss Alps (Tommy, this time) & France (country). I'm also looking forward to the Princess of Hawaii Barbie. Not real keen on the Princess of Holland, except maybe the curls. Melissa
