Hi all! While we are on the subject of Candi memories. I have a question: Which era of Candi do you like best? Is it the early beaded creations by Helena, when PD/Mikelman did Candi, Ken Batram's brief relationship with HDS, or the new "attitude" of Candis by Integrity.
For me, personally I never collected the older Candis. I saw them in shows but nothing really caught my eye. I do have one of the older ones that I like which is the 1997 Christmas Candi blond. She is pretty. But what REALLY got me hooked was when I saw the "Candi is back" ad in Barbie Bazaar last year with the new and improved Candi, the AA International doll. I believe that was Integrity's first ad of the new Candi.
Comparing the older Candis to the Newer Integrity ones I have to say Integrity's Candis' quality are much better. The sewing is consistant, and the face painting always perfect, and the packaging design is great! IMHO Candi can't be in better hands, and I really think she will blossom this year under the hands of Integrity. Can't wait to see the 2002 line.

I'll have to say I like the current Integrity Candis as I'm so new to collecting Candi and they're what gave me the Candi bug. LOL

Rene, I agree that Jason & Integrity are the right people to be getting Candi back on her feet & they are doing a marvelous job. I'm really looking forward to the new girls. BUT, I think my favorite Candis are the Mikelman era. I still would like to have had a 5th Avenue Fortuny just like the photos in the Candi International magazines (ONLY 2 issues!) She is soooo sultry.... And my most favorite is Mikelman's Best Dress redhead. (I'd also like to have seen the Polynesian one he had planned.) Melissa

I plead totally ignorant of the look of the newer Candis. Just haven't had the interest in doll collecting for the past year--sometimes this doll collecting can get overwhelming. But I do know, I agree completely that Candi couldn't be in better hands than with Jason and Integrity. It's almost like a love story with a happy ending when one considers how much of his own repainting and costume work Jason did with Candi when he was a collector posting regularly to this List. I don't think there was a more passionate lover of that doll than Jason. It's exciting to read and hear the collectors positive reviews of the business affiliation Jason now has with the doll. While I don't have to buy Candis to appreciate the ongoing developments, I do recognize the past is why there is a present and a promising future for Candi...pat Brown ----- Original Message ----- From: Rene O'Brien renendollz@yahoo.com To: candichat@dolls.de Sent: Monday, January 28, 2002 2:23 AM Subject: Question

I love my Candi 'Secrets'Dolls which I beleive Mikelman did....but I also am crazy about my newest Candi's from Integrity Pat H.
Given that Candi managed to get my attention during an "all" Barbie show and sale, that speaks volumes to the dolls' uniqueness for the body and facial sculpts. There was no other doll in the room that looked like her or possessed the same beauty. But, the one Candi that has stood out from all other Candis is the Betty Page Hispanic sculpt. Can lose the red teddy, but the hairstyle and the face of that doll just mesmerize me. My next favorite Candis are the Santa's Helpers--they are very helpery looking and the outfits are adorable. I could actually get into the Christmas spirit if I let myself take the girls out of their boxes!
