NEW MEMBER Introduction (Elizabeth)

Hello all, I thought I would just introduce myself. I have never joing a mailing list...that is, until I saw one for Candi Dolls. My name is Elizabeth Brookman and I live in Canada. I used to collect B*rbie dolls as a child and lost interest in my teens. My interest was completely renewed in dolls when I saw some Integrity dolls on auction in e-Bay. From there I found Candi dolls and a multitude of other larger fashion dolls... ...6 months later, my collection of Candis; Jakks Pacific dolls; Alysa, Jade, Janay and other fashion dolls has grown to over 80 !! Yes, that's over 13 dolls per month and it's driving my boyfriend a bit crazy (although he did build me a super-huge doll display cabinet, as they were taking over the living and dining rooms and our bedroom, LOL). I have to slow down on the collecting, as it was getting a bit out of hand. Soon I will be selling more than I am buying, on e-Bay. :) I design fashions and accessories for all of my fashion dolls. Hopefully in the New Year I will have a better web-site for viewing/purchasing my Original Fashions, Accessories and Custom dolls. Currently, I make hand-beaded fashions and jewelry sets with a friend who makes and sells B*rbie fashions on e-Bay. Christmas shopping done?? Groan, I haven't even started! The up side to buying one's own dolls is that we always will get exactly what we want, LOL. Have to find that silver lining in that cloud, :-)! These dolls were on QVC a month or so ago for pretty cheap. Boy do I hear you,I pretty much figure that if I want a doll for christmas > I'm going to have to get her myself,as everyone thinks I have too many Yeah , same here. In the 40 years we've been married, my husband still hasn't a clue as to my tastes, sizes, & doesn't seem to hear my broad hints. So sev. years ago I started buying my own things & saying 'look what you bought me honey', he at least wraps them....if I didn't do this,I'd still be getting those little scrapes of bikini nighties made of nothing but elastic that cuts , lace that itches & ribbons that strangle me ..... Hi there Kathy and all! Yes'um, those gorgeous, perfect for the holiday season, Holiday Toast dolls are now in stock. However, I haven't shipped them out to those who also have the Winter Mist fashion on order with me so the doll/s and fashion could be combined into one shipment, saving those customers some shipping money. Winter Mist didn't get to the Integrity warehouse until this past Wednesday and they are in transit to me now. They should be here by next Tuesday or Wednesday. I have to comment here on the presentation of the Holiday Toast dolls. They are another example of the thought that is being put into even the packaging of Integrity's Candis now. The dolls have their great red crystal earrings in their ears, with the exception of the Asian. Her's are packaged separately in the box. I had the occasion to talk to Jason right after they arrived, so I asked him why they did this. He said that he was afraid that in shipping it would make the Asian's very short hair stick out on the sides and look funny. Thusly, they decided to package her earrings separately in the box and let the collectors decide whether or not they even want to use them. The doll really doesn't need them, as flat as the hair is to the sides of her head. Jason also remembered how many times in the past collectors have complained about excessive, gunky gel in different dolls' hair that has to be washed out by those who play with them. Consequently on the the Danish, Hispanic and Swedish dolls, they put the hair in a net for shipping. I am most impressed by the thought that is being put into the packaging of the dolls now. I am also grateful that Integrity cares enough about their collectors to put this much thought into it! I would encourage you to drop them a note on their customer service e-mail to let them know you appreciate their efforts as well. Just as collectors need to voice valid complaints, we also need to extend a pat on the back when one is due. BTW, Kathy, did I miss something? PINK hair?????? Love your "Suess"ette. Boy, funky hair colors are really in for dolls now, LOL! I'm leaving town this afternoon for a show in Houston tomorrow. I know that I'll see a couple of list members for sure and am looking forward to it! Have a good weekend! Just in case though, I was out Christmas shopping yesterday and found Shanghai Cissy by Madame Alexander for $149 ! I just couldn't resist so now I have my first Cissy doll.
