Dear CandiChatters, a friend of mine kindly took the time to set up archives for all our mailing lists. Now CandiChat has an archive, too. It is available under http://www.dolls.de/archive/candichat/en/ It contains all mails since July 2001. Mails are archived as soon as they arrive at the list. Access is only allowed with username and passwort: user: candi passwort: Candi (with a capital "C"!) This is to make sure that it will not show up in the search engines. Best wishes, Anja

SORRY for the CROSS POST, But some news about whats been going on

HI All, First and foremost I Apologise for the cross posting and what I am gonna tell in this e-mail I have already told a few of my club members privately but felt I owed my fellow club members anexplanation as to why I have been fairly silent on my groups lately! Most of you already know of the things that have been happening with my mother and my S.O. Brent who he will have to most likely have to have gall bladder surgery in the near future! Well I have been not feeling too well lately myself and about 2 weeks ago while at my volunteer work I had had a horribble headache for about three days and then while down at the nursing home and doing the bingo I had a terrible pain go thru my forehead and as it passed quickly I thought nothing more of it until about a week and a half ago, when I noticed that I had lost some of the taste sensations in my tongue and also noticed that I had SOME SLIGHT paralysis on the right side of my face, I am having a little trouble now closeing my right eye completely and there is some definent numbness on the right side of my face. Well I did some research on my own adn talked with the nurses at the nursing home and saw the doctor today and there are about only two things that we all came up with that it could be, number one is a condition called Bells Palsey or i MIGHT have had a SLIGHT stroke, Now I am inclined to think the stroke may be what happened because of the things that happened at the doctors to day during the exam, He told me there was a definent weakness difference between my left and right sides in particular my right leg seems to be weaker than my left. I go to the hospital tomorrow morning for other tests and a MRI to try and fully determine the extent of whats going on.NOW my DEAR FRIENDS it sounds worse tha I think it is, I am still pretty much FULLY functional and everything just the differences in the weakness on the right and left sides of my body and then the troubles with my face being numb on the right!! WELL My friends, keep the well wishes and the KIND KIND thoughts going in my direction cause right now I can use all the thoughts wishes and prayers that can be sent my direction. SO IF I have any swaps or things like that going on with any of my indidvual club members They will be done as soon as I can get back to them But they are gonna be running a little later than I had anticipated BUt rest assured I am DEFINENTLY GONNA CONTINUE WITH MY DOLL WORK!!!! I truly cherish each and everyone of my fellow club members!! I will try and update on whats going on if and when I hear anything after tomorrow! THANKS TO YOU ALL MY DEAR FRIENDS!!! TTYS Kevin

Lucky Shopping Day

Hi all, I had a GREAT shopping day on Thursday. You probably don't remember and maybe I did't post it but there is this big store going out of business near me. Now I remember telling Randall about it. I got those 3 packs of "designer" clothes - the clothes are very "preppy" and the quality is fantastic. They are by Kari Michell - the same as the dolls that I got from you, Randall, if you are, if you are listening." So on Thursday I was out and decided to make a fast stop at this store again. I truly did not expect them to have anything left since they are going out of business. When I got to the Barbie isle I couldn't believe my eyes. It was loaded with all new merchandise including two more of those evening fashion outfits from Mattel (Very cheap fabric but I really wanted the evening wear). I also picked up quite a few FA outfits - everything is 20% off but I noticed they had some of the merchandise highly priced to begin with. They had Barbies in there that I never saw. I couldn't believe it. Of course I had to go get a cart by this time, LOL, and there I was with my cart loaded to the brim (and believe me - I should not be putting anything more on the charge card. Does anyone ever have that feeling????). Anyway, this woman says to me "Oh, are you doing some Christmas shopping." I told her no, that all this stuff was for me - that was so funny. So, I will be checking on this store frequently now knowing they are getting stock in all the time. Take care, Karla

Question for those who sew ...

Hi, I've got a question for those of you who sew, or who may be familiar with sewing notions and such. In the 60s Mattel used Narrow peices of tulle as the facing on many things such as armholes and necklines. In, I beleive the 80s they started using a narrow strip (no more than 3/8") of knitted nylon fabric. I would like to purchase some of this. If you know where to get it, or even know what's it's called please e-mail me. Thanks, Randall
