I have never given away any of
my men dolls like I have my female dolls. I have a lot
of
different ones now and hold onto them all. I must have
some salacious interest in variety
Orig. I was going to collect antique dolls 'till I got a load of their
prices...then I collected porcelein dolls until I broke one of them &
that ended that...then collected various older, big dolls such as the
Chrissie & Velvet sisters. I started with the Barbie dolls 'cause I
thought they were unbreak. ( vinyl) & cheap HA! But at 1st , since I
had sons & no daughters, I only collected boy dolls like GI Joe, Ken,
Kevin & the black males under various names ( & also all black dolls
cause they're so beautiful & for awhile there, were easier & cheaper to
get ) I really wasn't interested in having a bunch of all the identical
looking blondes, so I collect mostly Barbies' friends in various
incarnations. ...some Genes & Tylers & Elle....... Of course, I have all
kinds of Candi dolls, which is my great love. But male dolls still
interest me...today , for instance, I went to the thrift shop & came
home with a Capt. John Smith , still with his long hair uncut ( he's
such a hunk) A Harrison Ford from Star Wars series ( he looks sooo
young!) & some tiny baby boys, dressed & with shoes even( I think
they're from that quintuplet series of some brand or another from back a
few years ) I'm always on the lookout for diff. male dolls of any brand
to pair with my girls be they Barb or Candi. The problem with them, is
getting clothes to fit that's something other than a uniform, because
it's hard to get anything to fit over those Ham-like hands they usually
have, or massive chests & shoulders & their heads usually won't fit a
Ken body, if you can get them off that is.
