Karla,
Which doll are you referring to that has the lashes? (I had to chuckle imagining you taking dolls off the shelf, lining them up in the isle and inspecting them... lol. I've done that on occasion. Sometimes there's a barely susceptible difference that makes you think you got the best one of the lot.... lol).
Went shopping this week. Got James Dean was on sale at TRU. Bought Frank Sinatra for his suit. His damn shirt was sewn on him (screech!). Sniped it off and sewed on snaps (pricked my fingers (fuming!)), but JD takes on a whole new look in a suit.

Finished my wedding boutique diorama, and decided that Candi still wows me.

Also got the Samantha (Bewitched) Barbie because she's different with a fabulous widow's peak, and her hair turns fluffy after it's washed. Got some doll furniture, handmade and upholstered (not plastic stuff) and blew my dolly budget, but I'm as contented right now as a newly fed baby with a pacifier.

Robin, Thanks for sharing your pictures... James Dean does look good in his suit. How did you ever get that Hunk, Ares, into a suit??? Is Belle the Swedish Pin-Up Candi? She looks like Dolly Parton. Lovely dress... where did it come from? Melissa

Hi Robin,
Yes, the shopping trip was fun. The doll with the eyelashes is the new Celebration Holiday Barbie. When I got to the layaway dept. I was still examining them. LOL. Sounds like you did really good with James Dean, etc. I bought one James Dean off the internet several years ago and didn't know they were at still around at TRU. I can see you sewing on those snaps in anger! What is the James Dean wearing? Mine has a red jacket. I love James Dean!

Hi again Robin,
I didn't realize that you had a picture right in your pos. Your James Dean looks fantastic!!! Where on earth did you get the scaled down bar set-up with the little bottles and glasses????? That is really great. Thanks for the picture. I do have one stupid question for you - who is the other gentleman?? He looks great.

Hi Robin,
JD look so great in his new suit!!! A really perfect suit! I'm absolutely hooked about your dioramas!! I wish to have something like your Happy Hour decoration and the Wedding Boutique is so lovely - ohhh this nice tea set and the dressforms! I can't wait to see more! -- Silvana Baroffio http://mypage.bluewin.ch/vana/home/
Thanks, Silvana: I have always enjoyed looking at your site, and after I saw your dioramas I started doing my own and haven't stopped. lol I think dioramas are a fun way to play with dolls and there's something delightful about creating a mini world. I wish I had as many dolls as you have, you dress them so beautifully. Sharon is still my favorite, so pretty, I love her. I meant to email you after you wrote in my guest book on my site; you asked who the male was in the music scene. He is John Smith. I bought him on sale for $5.00 several yrs ago and consider him my best buy. He is my favorite male doll.
All the best Robin

Hi all,
I am so thrilled to hear that you collectors are really out there and your really playing. I was beginning to wonder when I set up a barbeque scene for Candi. I have the little barbeque, food and everthing you would need for a day out with friends. I have Candi sitting with her friend on their little bench. Candi's horse is not out of the box but now I think I may take it out. Also, her corvette is in the scene but it's not put together yet. I also have the pool - I have to get these things put together. I really must say that since I lose of dear friend Tina over two years ago I was starting to think I was strange really playing. Tina and I always played - I miss her so much. I lost her to a horrible medical malpractice incident. Anyway, when I saw those fantastic scenes I felt like "I guess I am normal after all." In the doll world that is, LOL. It's a good thing I have an extra bedroom downstairs where I used to make my porcelain dolls. Now I can make the scenes I have only been thinking about - My Bridal scene with all the trimmings. I have three Velvet and Bows, Blond, brunette and redhead all matching for my big wedding party. Thanks for all your input and ideas.

I agree that these dioramas that some of you set up are just fantastic and look like so much fun! I wish I had a room just for my dolls so I could have some fun setting up these dioramas too.
