Hi All,
Boy has this brought everyone out of the woodwork. Fun to see so many
posts. I about had a fit when I found 56 e-mails in my box this morning. LOL
I bought my first Candi from Lizee when someone on the AOL boards I was
on at the time posted the pics. I remember being madly in love with the
doll, and showing the pic to all my friends. The doll I decided on was the
Hispanic secrets doll, and I remember waiting for months for it to show up,
but being so thrilled with it when it came. It is still one of the dolls
that is ALWAYS out on my shelves. I got a couple of the outfits that came
out at that time as well. Then came the New York collection fiasco as well
as the downfall of Lizee, and the demise of the original list, and Anja's
offer of this wonderful list. I personally had a small run in with Paul
David, again over the New York line, and then I found Suzanne, and other
than waiting, things have been much better. I tried to get interested in
the Charice/Alyssa dolls, and I do like some of the ones Jason has done,
but they don't hit me with the "gotta have it" thing that the Candis have
always done. I must be really enamored of the doll to go through all this!
If you look at my shelves, in general there are more Candis than Babs (
except for my OOAK's) and I get lots of comments on them. Other than
Madame Du Barbie (my only Mackie) most people are drawn to one or other of
the Candis, and comment on how pretty they are. I think they are eye
catching as they are so different from the blond smiling bimbos that so
many people associate with Barbie. I am so tickled to have Jason working
with Integrity on these dolls, as I know they are in good hands and the
love affair can continue for me. I remember how devoted Jason was to
Candis, and I think they could have gotten no one better to work on her.
Sincerely,
Kathy M.
