HI Karla, That was in reply to the question about the ICONS line Integrity is putting out, not the Fashion Royalty line, YES I know the Fashion Royalty line is slightly taller than the rest of the dolls at approximately 12 1/4in tall and they can wear many of the same clothing as the other Fashion Dolls! HI All, Actually The FDM convention has NOT taken place yet, it is this coming July31st, AUgust 1,2,3 I believe the dates are and as far as I know JIm Faraone is NOT one of the judges for the makeover competion of the convention, He is just one of the chair persons for the convention and the one who originated the convention idea in the first place! SO in repeating myself the FDM convention has NOT taken place yet!! ttys Kevin

Some people do not like to hear of people removing face paint or "damaging" a doll's original features. I think these people think of the original dolls as "art" and they feel as though somebody is damaging "art". In reality, if something is mass produced then it is not truly a piece of art (in the true sense of the word). Although I see many poorly done OOAK dolls, people who probably shouldn't repaint, reroot, or restyle anything ... I also see a lot of beautiful dolls. The fact of the matter is we are all free to do whatever we choose. If you are a collector who likes to keep their doll original the just think, the more people who turn that doll into an OOAK the less there will be in original condition and perhaps she will become harder to find. Being one who missed out on the Silkstone Lingerie #1 and #2 I always remember all the OOAK dolls I used to see done out of them and the dolls in good condition are commanding around $250 now. I truly wonder if any people regret transforming their Silkstones now. Randall

The second shipment of Adele and /Veronique will arrive early next week, and I would think at that time Suzanne will have them back in stock. If she is sold out, at that time, I do have a few left to sell. Have a great day Pat Feick

All that glitters gets irritating....Birthstone dolls

I agree about the glitter too! I guess they do it to try to get the look of a dress with beadwork or sequins on it, but I imagine that they can't use beads because it is too expensive? That would drive our price up. I wouldn't mind seeing the sequins or seed beads instead of glitter, but I guess that depends on how much more we would have to pay! If the dolls look as good as they do in the pictures, I probably will get most. But I wish they would have at least made a hairstyle variation for each doll (I know the haircolor is different on some). Or made something about each gown a little different (like they did with the Gemstone dolls). Seems kind of silly to get 12 dolls that have the same hairstyles and gowns, even if the color is different. But I don't think I could pick just one, as I like many of the colors. For those of you who bought or saw them, can you tell us what the price is for a Birthstone doll? Thanks. Crystal

Hi All, an addendum to my other e-mail, The juding for the FDM Makeovers convention is being done by representatives from various doll companies that work for those said companies, Ie if I am correct there will be LOTS of different companies represented, from Integrity Toys to the Robert Tonner company will be in attendance also as will several others I cant recall at the moment! I will look up the page for the convention site and post it to this group so there will be NO misrepresentation of the convention policys ttys Kevin

Actually, I do not like Colin's outfit at all. It is hard for me to appreciate the style because for such an expensive outfit I like to have details that show true skill (i.e. beautifully fitted garments, tailoring, etc). The best part is the built in corselette which laces in the back. I think it they should have done an empire waisted bodice but fitted with princess seams instead of just using a strip of fabric with a bow around it. I plan on making her a suit but I have been very busy working on 11.5" fashion doll clothing lately (in addition to everything else). You all will be seeing a few of my doll designs very soon and I have plans for a lot more too! Randall

HI Pat, No these dolls are the regular 11 1/2in Fashion doll size doll,but QUALITY dolls put out by Integrity Toys! and they will run right around $25 give or take a dollar or two. ttys Kevin

OT: Follow up on Mattel Troubles

I had posted several days ago about my troubles with my A Model Life Barbie set. I called Mattel again today. Basically they said if I send the doll back they will reimburse me for the purchase price of the doll. I bought the doll from Paul David and as you may know shipping is $7.00. That means by the time I get a replacement I would be out $14.00 total shipping to me from PD as well as the cost of shipping the doll back to Mattel. I told them that is not acceptable and that I want to be reimbursed for the cost of the replacement doll including shipping expenses because it was a defective item. They should have caught these things in quality control and I really feel that they should make amends and that I should not be out that much $ on shipping charges just to get a doll that is not defective. She told me that they wouldn't do it so I asked for her supervisor ... I'm waiting on a call back. I am so frustrated! Mattel has always made things right when I used to buy the lower end merchandise but now that I buy an expensive item they don't seem to know what customer service it. Randall
