Well I can write a few hundred lines in Intel syntax and understand AT&T syntax, but the problem is not with the assembler code itself, it's valid. Seems that gcc runs out of registers or something. It may be of help if we replace some of the hardcoded register names in asm with generic ones, such as r0, r1... if gcc asm supports such a feature. I'm using the gcc-3.2.3 included in rock-linux-2.x.y (it's the standard gcc + the IBM stack protector security patch) and have no problems at all. Everything compiles and works. -- E-gards: Jimmy

limited graphics modes

In demo.pas, I have access to modes 0..15 only. I've run demogrx at high resolutions on both machines in the past. my RHIDE.BAT file says to set grx20drv=stdvga, with various combinations of sizes and resolutions tried with no apparent effect. I'm not sure where to start figuring this out, and would appreciate suggestions. all the best, Toby

When I use the following patch I'm able to continue compiling. inoutport drivers on svgalib-1.9.x

Hi. Mariano, I think that you should change the comment to USE_INOUTP_FRAMEDRIVERS to read that a 'n' must be used with svgalib-1.9.x. First, these don't work by default because GRX does nothing to gain port access, it simply derives that priviledge from svgalib 1.4.3 (and not from 1.9.x); thus, even a suid root svgalib-1.9.x GRX executable still fails with a coredump at the first in/outport instruction. Second, even if an ioperm(2) is established, the drivers still don't work well - looks like a port conflict between svgalib or svgalib kernel module and GRX to me. I can't remember if the drivers ever worked with 1.9.x, my previous tests were about 6 months ago... Anyone else willing to check that? -- E-gards: Jimmy

Hi. A number of really small fixes: - bgi/bgiprint.c:bgiprint_init() - bgi/bgiprint.c:bgiprint_close() are declared static but not defined static: sync - setup/clip.c:GrResetClipBox() - setup/cxtinlne.c:GrCurrentContext() - setup/cxtinlne.c:GrScreenContext are declared foo(void) but defined foo(): sync - text/buildfnt.c:bdump() removed DEBUG mode GrCurrentMode() replaced printf()-s with DBGPRINTF() - utils/dbgprint.c:_GR_debug_printf() removed "grxkeys.h" and "libxwin.h" includes removed GrKeyPressed()/GrKeyRead() - makefile.w32: no changes; MinGW linking and debugging now works Debugging: I'll change the makefiles not to link any video libraries for the programs that use no graphics mode (MinGW never did) this weeked. My consideration is that the debug change is a bugfix and should go straight in the official 246. Other opinions? - test/fontdemo.c synced the #include-s with the other examples -- E-gards: Jimmy
