GRX 1 equivelent for....

Hello, I could use some suggestions on how to represent the following GRX 1.x tokens using GRX 2.x API: _GrMouseDrawn _GrMouseCheck ... were available as part of GRX 1.x as 'extern char'. _GrMouseCursor ..was available as 'extern GrCursor' Does anyone know the proper replacements? xwin fonts name/family enhancement

The default xwin font driver sets the font name to "" (is this legal?) and family to "xwin". This patch sets the family to the FAMILY_NAME property or "xwin" and the font name to the FONT_NAME property or "<family>-<height>". Most fonts have FAMILY_NAME, but I know not of any font having FONT_NAME, so the name becomes like "Fixed-12" or "Courier-24". Still better than empty, I suppose... -- E-gards: Jimmy

Problem with GRX/RHIDE/Win98

Hi, I just startet to play with the GRX library for DOS (DJGPP). Looks fine for me, but I have a small problem. For development I would like to use DJGPP under Win98. I did this before with the Allegro library without any problems. When I start a graphics application (even a hello world programm) using GRX from RHIDE the program runs fine but after ending Win98 says that "this application cannot be run in window mode", crashing the whole RHIDE programm. I can switch to fullscreen before starting my application but then after a few runs the linker gets stuck with "too many open files". Can you give me some advice how to solve that? Hello all, I write a software with DJGPP DOS and GRX. It uses a touch screen from Elo. The Elo driver handle mickeys. How can I disable mickeys in GRX's mouse library and use absolute value ? Thanks for your help. Michel

Refresh problem on Linux/X11

I have the following problem: when a window is obscured and then made visible again the obscured part is lost. I have tried grx245 and grx246 on Debian Woody with KDE. The problem vanishes when the display is redirected to a machine which uses fvwm as a window manager. I long I can see the only effort grx makes to make display persistent is to request backing store. My impression was that backing store is always optional. For my own simple program I used pixmap as a window background and directed all drawing to that pixmap -- it works on the machine where grx method failed. test/demogrx.c: Now that GrLoadFont() can safely be used before GrSetMode(), load lucb21.fnt and lucb40b.fnt before switching to graphics mode. This eliminates the need to switch back to text mode when aborting because of a missing font, i.e. disaster(). linetest.c: don't #include <pc.h> if __DJGPP__, that's pointless speedtst.c: use fgets() instead of getch() when in text mode test.c: don't declare the old style keyboard I/O getch() and kbhit() functions - someone with watcom C, please verify if this was the only reason for including <conio.h> in __WATCOMC__; use fgets() instead of getch() when in text mode, as in speedtst.c textpatt.c: Simplified p1/p2/font conditions - we're not using ADA, so if(pointer) and if(!pointer) should be valid tests even if the pointer has been free()-d; also, no ordinary GRX function can (or should be able to) set it's pointer argument to NULL. -- E-gards: Jimmy
