SPAM and Virus at kampi ?

Hi all, I receive since a couple of weeks SPAM mail (with SNN in the subject). Sender and Dest are bogus, and change each time. But the mail is always relayed through santra.hut.fi, which I suppose is the gateway of kampi.hut.fi (IP numbers are 130.233.224.2 for kampi and 130.233.224.2 for santra). I suppose also that they had my mail address in the mailing list or ftp list of kampi. As usual they say that if you want to unsubscribe you have to send a message to some address, which is also bogus and change each time. I have replied the first time, so I receive a couple of messages each time. Now kampi seems permanently down (not replying to ping), while santra is on. May be they are aware of that and are down for this reason. If you know somebody there, you could give them these explanations to help them to fight. But a phone call is more appropriate than an e-mail !! Realization of the Self =B)...

I'd like to see register EDI point to Self on entry into a method rather than Self being on the stack. The reason is because setting the address of a point right before using it (ie what GPC does now) causes an address calculation stall (on any cpu risc or cisc). It would also be more convenient to simply reference the pointer using a preset register. Doing this would also remove about 3 or 4 unnnecessary 32-bit instructions which means smaller code size (why does GPC save Self on the stack when it already is?). See ya! Hi, me again! I've discovered another strange problem with GPC-19980830 which appears to be a bug. The following program produces a fatal signal 11 from gpc1: -------cut----------- program MAPPER; type PtNo = 1..5; procedure DrawMap; var Sp: array [PtNo] of integer; begin end; procedure PrintMap; var Sp: array [PtNo] of integer; begin end; begin end. -------cut----------- ida % gpc -c bug.p gpc: Internal compiler error: program gpc1 got fatal signal 11 I'm using gpc version 19980830, based on egcs-2.91.57 19980901 (egcs-1.1 release) on Redhat 5.1. Now if I comment out either of the two procedure definitions above the problem goes away. Also if I change the var lines (either one or both of them) to: var Sp: array [1..5] of integer; That works ok too. Any help/suggestions/bug-fixes gratefully received!! More Red Hat troubles with binary distribution

Hi again all, Is there anyone out there using RH 5.0, 5.1, or 5.2 that is able to use the GPC binary to compile pascal code? I have a Slackware install @ home that runs without a problem but I just installed RH 5.1 @ work and have the same old problems I used to have. If I recall correctly, a solution was never found. Hints??? Ideas???? Solutions??? Anything would be appreciated!!! TNX Ken Linder kc7rad(a)vegasnet.net

Which beta version exactly did you get, and are you sure you use only files of the same version together (and not perhaps unintentionally a previously installed libgpc.a)? This might apply especially if you're using DJGPP where AFAIK there was a directory restructuring recently. When in doubt, you might want to remove all instances of libgpc.a and install again. link problem with gpc beta

I just compiled the version beta version of gpc with gcc 2.8.1.
