GNU Binary for SGI

Hi, I've downloaded the binary beta "gpc-19990118_mips-sgi-irix6_2_tar.gz" from ftp://agnes.dida.physik.uni-essen.de/gnu-pascal/beta/binary/, as I'm not really familiar with unix. It should run on a SGI, Power-Challenge-XL12 with IRIX64 v6.2. GCC v2.7 is already installed. The environmental variable GPC_EXEC_PREFIX does not seem to work, setting the dir with -B as a command option helps. By compiling a little test program (no uses etc) a fatal error occured: ld32: FATAL 9: I/O error (-lgpc): No such file or directory I've copied the files from /gpc/usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/mips-sgi-irix6.2/2.8.1 into the bin-dir, but it doesn't helped. Can anyone help or had made experiences with this version? Interested about GNU Pascal development

Hi, I am a 19 years old college student. I study programming. I like Linux/Unix* alot because of the open-source concept and also because these OS are highly configurable and customizable. I run RedHat 5.2 on a i386 machine (Pentium 166MhZ, 48MB ram) and If you need to traduct english-to-french or french-to-english feel free to ask me :) I can also do alpha/beta testings. This far, my teachers only showed us the basics of Pascal (Console..) and some C. But as my studies advances I will get better. In fact, I am willing to do whatever I can to help Linux/Unix*/GNU to grow. (Little anger toward microsoft....well let's rather say some hatred ;) reboot-reboot reboot) I live in Quebec, Canada. Further PowerPC compile woes

Having had problems with my intel-to-AIX cross-compiler, I've now put LinuxPPC on my iMac and built a totally normal, non-cross-compiled egcs 1.1.1. This crashes in the same way as my cross-compiler did, so it looks like there's some problem with generating powerpc code (since an identical intel/egcs1.1.1/gpc-19990118 build works fine). So far as I can tell there's no problem with other languages, but since the compiler builds some fairly hefty Pascal files without crashing it's hard to tell. GPC list has moved

Hello all, the move of the GPC mailing list has been completed now. `gpc(a)hut.fi' (and `gpc-request(a)hut.fi') does still work and is forwarded to the new list, but the new official address of the list is `gpc(a)gnu.de'. To subscribe to or to unsubscribe from the GPC mailing list please send email to `majordomo(a)gnu.de' (or `gpc-request(a)gnu.de' which makes no difference). The subject is ignored, but the body can contain commands to the `majordomo' program, for instance: help --> request an email that tells you more about how to talk with majordomo subscribe gpc peter(a)gerwinski.de --> subscribe unsubscribe gpc peter(a)gerwinski.de --> unsubscribe Those of you who are only interested in announcements and not in discussions can unsubscribe from the `gpc' list and instead subscribe to the `gpc-announce' list. gpc compiler error

I am trying out the 2.1-beta version of gpc, in order to take advantage of its ability to handle the Turbo Pascal 'Assign' function. However, on compiling (a numerical model) on a unix solaris operating system, I get the following message: gpi-hash.c:406: failed assertion `rni == num_items' gpc: Internal compiler error: program gpc1 got fatal signal 6 *** Error code 1 make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `medrush' The programme compiles OK with the last (2.0, I think) release of gpc (but crashes - though that's a whole new problem!). Does anyone have any ideas?
