Are `gpc-*.c' still modified GCC source files?

Hi, all! I am thinking about doing a major change in the structure of the GPC source. Until now, some GPC source files (gpc-typeck.c, gpc-common.c, ...) are modified GCC source files, and all GPC-specific changes are marked `#ifdef GPC'. AFAIK, the reason for this is that we want to profit with GPC from bug fixes in the GCC frontend. Meanwhile the `#ifdef GPC' parts are getting more and more making the files in question less and less readable. Furthermore, sticking to the GCC frontend prevents me from changing the parameter lists of certain central functions, thus introducing code duplication and unncessary bugs. Maybe I have overlooked some crucial benefit we get from keeping the current structure, but if not, I am planning to drop all `#ifdef GPC' constructs when doing the next major changes on GPC. What do you think? Lots of Junk mail via gpc list lately

Hi all, lately, I receive lots of junk mail seemingly sent via the gpc mailing list. One example of the many is appended. If there is a whole in the list, could this be plugged with some sort of spam filter, or some mechanism that allows only properly subscribed users to mail via the list? Thanks in advance! [PATCH] Fixing gpc-19990118 install process.

Hi, This patch fixes the install process for gpc-19990118. Well, yes... :-( This bug is quite involved... some instances of it were fixed, but as it turned out not all of them... :-( At least I can reproduce the bug, and all I can say now is that I hope it will be fixed by the next release. I'm adding your test program to the test suite (sam12.pas), so we'll test this program explicitly when we believe the bug to be fixed next time... Hello all, I posted several months ago about a bug involving the incorrect recognition of an enumerated type by the compiler, when the type was imported from a unit in two different modules. I understand that this bug was on the list of fixed bugs for gpc-19990118, but I still get exactly the same error! Has anyone else tested this bug under the current version? Sam B. PS. Turbo Pascal 'Append' Procedure

I hope this is the right place to come for this sort of advice - if not, please point me in a better direction . . . . . I am trying to convert my Turbo Pascal code to allow compilation using GNU Pascal. I have hit a problem with the 'Append' procedure, which does not seem to be supported in gpc. How should I go about adding lines to the end of existing text files? I have replaced 'Assign' with the appropriate procedure outlined on the GNU Pascal web pages - is there a similar 'fix' for 'Append'?? linux 2.2 NFS bug
