Hello,
I am currently maintaining the gpc mailing list (just like most other
lists at our server). If someone from this list would be willing to
take my place as gpc-owner I would appreciate it very much. I get
about 5 non-subscriber posts every day I have to read and evaluate (is
it spam, is it a genuine post?). Most are spam, but I have to check
all in case there is a genuine post among them. Plus, there are about
5 bounces every day (servers being down temporarily or addresses that
became invalid). This doesn't sound much, but for me it takes too much
time. I accidentally let a mail pass to gpc-announce recently; this
shows me I am getting too much mail to look at each properly.
If you are willing to maintain the list please contact me.
Administration is possible either via a web interface or via commands
sent by email; I am using email only. I will write down for you the
commands you need to access majordomo. There are not very many you
need regularly. When majordomo asks you to accept or reject a
non-subscriber post you have to look at that mail via HTTP. If your
online time is expensive this is a drawback. I am sure majordomo 2 can
attach the mail in question just like majordomo 1 did but I have not
yet found out how.
Thanks,
Anja
