Dos unit on Unix

Hi, I use FSplit, FindFirst, FindNext procedures from the Dos unit in program I'm trying to port for Linux. This procedures cut off the long filenames to 8 characters (DOS standard) and the program doesn't works under Linux correctly. What is possible solutions? What alternative to the Dos unit? GPC on Linux

I have installed GPC (v.20030830) on my RedHat 7.1 running box. GCC is v.2.96 20000731, binutils v. 2.10.91.0.2-3. It works mainly fine until I want to use the key -g for further gdb work. With this key it breaks with next message: Assembler messages: Warning: Unrecognized .section attribute: want a,w,x ... Error: Rest of line ignored. First ignored character is ',' Guess it because of versions incompatibility. But my Linux-GPC experience not allows me to find exact reason of the error. Problems building GPC-20030830

Hello, I'm having much difficulty in building GPC 2003-08-30 on a FreeBSD system. This is the error that I'm getting: gcc -g -O2 -o makeinfo makeinfo.o multi.o ../lib/libtxi.a ../intl/libintl.a gmake[3]: Leaving directory `/usr/tmp/gpcbuild/texinfo/makeinfo' gmake[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/tmp/gpcbuild/texinfo' gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/tmp/gpcbuild/texinfo' gmake[1]: Entering directory `/usr/tmp/gpcbuild/etc' gmake[1]: Nothing to be done for `all'. gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/tmp/gpcbuild/etc' gmake[1]: Entering directory `/usr/tmp/gpcbuild/gcc' cd ../../gcc-2.95.4cvs/gcc && autoheader autoheader: not found gmake[1]: *** [../../gcc-2.95.4cvs/gcc/cstamp-h.in] Error 127 gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/tmp/gpcbuild/gcc' gmake: *** [all-gcc] Error 2 What is autoheader? I think that this problem may be related to the tools that I have installed on the machine. I have the GNU sed installed, as well as autoconf 2.13. Now here's the problem: For my platform, bision is only available in 1.75. The textinfo and flex tools are *NOT* available at all through the ports collection. Unfortunately, this is the best that I can do because I don't know C very well. Help is appriciated. -- Daniel Rudy

Stdin & Stdout

Hello, I'm trying to build a program under Unix, and I'm trying to use stdin and stdout to do this, but it keeps telling me that the symbols are not defined. I've tried stdin, stdout, standardinput, standardoutput, and used filenames such as 'stdin' and 'stdout'. How does one transfer information between stdin and stdout on unix systems through GPC? -- Daniel Rudy

Sir, I am working in Pascal in HP-UX envirmoment. The application was developed in HP Pascal 3000 in MPE/iX enviroment. We want to port the application in HP-UX. So using PC command I compiled the files and object files are created successfully. Now I want to link the programs and make the application executable. How do I link the files? temporary spamcop listing

Hi all, an automated response from the majordomo list software got our mailing list server in spamcop's blacklist for one day. They removed us quickly upon request. From the list mail bounces I see that some of you missed out on three mails that went via the gpc list on that day. I am attaching them below. To those of you using spamcops blacklist, be warned.
