Internal compiler error on Unixware

I am trying to compile gpc on Unixware 7.1.1 with gcc 2.95.3 and gpc 20010623. These two versions do not seem to be important. I have installed the latest versions of binutils, grep, sed, texinfo fom www.gnu.org and have versions of gnu make and patch. I can compile these utilities and gcc. I get the following error compiling the gpc rts: ../.././xgpc -B../.././ -c -I. -W -Wall -Wpointer-arith -Wwrite-strings -Wmissing-prototypes -Wmissing-declarations -g -O2 -DRTS_RELEASE_STRING="'`cat /usr/local/src/gcc-2.95.3/gcc/p/rts/rts-version`'" --unit-path=/usr/local/src/gcc-2.95.3/gcc/p/rts --automake string.pas string.pas: In function `Memcompcase': string.pas:211: Internal compiler error in `add_bound_info', at dwarf2out.c:7383 Please submit a full bug report. debugging the gpc executable

At the risk of sounding increcibly inept.... For those of you that have modified the GPC source, how do you go about debugging it? I've built it with debugging symbols, but GDB doesn't recognize any of the functions names, I've never had this problem before.... Any suggestions? How can I tell the Compiler, that the source of an unit is at the same place as the main-source, when I invoke it from somewhere else?

Hello, can anyone please help me with the following: I 've got a Directory, where there is the sourcecode which shall be compiled, and where the executable has to go. But I have to invoke gpc from a different directory. This works fine... i am doing it this way: /usr/local/bin/gpc -s --automake /home/michael/WebAssign/data/1612/compile/testeSchlange.pas -o /home/michael/WebAssign/data/1612/compile/executable This compiles "testeSchlange.pas" and produces a file named "executable" in the directory /home/michael/WebAssign/data/1612/compile/ But now I want to use an unit, which is not precompiled. The sourcecode of the unit is in the same directory as the sourcecode of the main-program. If I do the same as in the first case, the unit is not found. So tried it like this: /usr/local/bin/gpc -s --automake --unit-path /home/michael/WebAssign/data/1612/compile/ /home/michael/WebAssign/data/1612/compile/testeSchlange.pas -o /home/michael/WebAssign/data/1612/compile/executable But this does not work, too. So, can anyone give me the right syntax? What is the difference between --unit-path and --object-path? Greetings, Michael Paap

I am trying to compile gpc20010623 with gcc 2.95.3 but the compiler complains about the following. in gcc/tree.h: extern int lang_decode_option PROTO((int, char **)); in gcc/p/lang.c: #ifdef EGCS int lang_decode_option (argc, argv) int argc; char **argv; { return pascal_decode_option (argc, argv); } #else /* not EGCS */ int lang_decode_option (p) char *p; { return pascal_decode_option (p); } #endif /* not EGCS */ However, I am not using EGCS but gcc 2.95.3. We tried compiling gpc earlier this year but have been too busy for a while. This was the outcome: Problems compiling gpc 20010121 under Unixware 7.1.1 using gcc 2.92.2 and Skunkware 7.1.1B 1. rts wont compile /usr/local/src/gcc-2.95.2/gcc/p/rts/string.pas: In function `Memcompcase': /usr/local/src/gcc-2.95.2/gcc/p/rts/string.pas:226: Internal compiler error in `add_bound_info', at gcc2.95.2//gcc/dwarf2out.c:7376 solved by compiling with -g0. We can live without debugging. 2. Tried a simple program: Program Test; begin WriteLn('Hello'); end. gpc test.pas gave: UX:as: WARNING: /var/tmp/cc00027c.s:76:name already bound as global: init_pascal_main_program UX:as: WARNING: /var/tmp/cc00027c.s:77:name already bound as global: pascal_main_program Undefined first referenced symbol in file sys_siglist /usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/i686-UnixWare7.1.1-sysv5/2.95.2/libgpc.a(rts.o) UX:ld: ERROR: a.out: fatal error: Symbol referencing errors. Pascal on UnixWare 7

We are looking for a Pascal compiler for SCO UnixWare V7. We tried compiling the Gnu Pascal compiler but it came up with various problems. Has anyone got it successfully working on UnixWare? Another possibility we would like to try is to compile our programs on Linux and use the lxrun emulator that allows you to run Linux programs on UnixWare. Has anyone had any experience of this working? Any information or hints would be gratefully appreciated. Theo Carr-Brion
