I think that's the same bug in config-lang.in that's been reported a number of times on other systems without GNU sed/grep. As I said, I think I've fixed it a long time ago.
So it's quite pointless to report this bug again. If you want to do anything, write to Peter and ask him to upload the current sources, then try again with them.
