Not so. I have been using a compiler (based on P4) but much revised for over 30 years. Unfortunately I lost the sources to a thief (literally) of my backups over 10 years ago, and those included such things as the linker and assemblers (which latter customized the system to the actual machinery, from CP/M to the HP-3000). So that ended development.
