Why do you need to use the --borland-pascal switch? GPC should be able to cope with BP code without using that switch. However, if you do need to use the switch, you might try this;
{$gnu-pascal} function Mallinfo : mallocinfo; asmname 'mallinfo'; {$borland-pascal} <-- I am not sure if this exists!
