I'm rather new at trying to install gpc, so please excuse this question if it's been discussed elsewhere. Can someone tell me if gpc can be installed if only gcc 2.95.2 is available; or is it gcc 2.8.1 that's needed?

I've just built GPC based on GCC 2.8.1 sources with GCC 2.95 on Sparc Solaris 7. I haven't tried to build GPC based on GCC 2.95 sources. To do so you need GCC 2.95 specific patch as I understand GPC documentation well.

With the most recent alpha snapshot (gpc-19991030, available on ftp://agnes.dida.physik.uni-essen.de/gnu-pascal/alpha/) you can use gcc-2.95.x.
