Thanks Frank, I used to use Solaris and seldom worked on HP myself. I did get gcc binary package from HP's web site. Although I was surprised to learn gnu ld won't compile on HP. Doing web search find me nothing on gpc associated with HP.
I would appreciated if anyone has links to gpc / gnu-ld on HP. It seemed to me that I still have lot of things to learn especially on HP.

Perhaps you might want to ask the GCC list gcc@gcc.gnu.org how they get GCC running on HP/UX. They might also have the required binaries (except GPC).
I've never used HP/UX so I don't know exactly what you need. Is there someone on this list using HP/UX?
