Hello, everybody!
Somehow good news: GCC 2.7.x and GPC 2.6.3 *can* peacefully coexist on the same system. You just have to make the linuxaout-libraries visible for GPC (for example with the SlackWare 3.0 directory tree, use "gpc -L /usr/i486-linuxaout/lib myfile.pas") and to replace temporarily the new library libgcc.a by the old one. Only this one -- not the elf versions, and not libc.a, etc.. The linker will complain about some entry point, but the executable will work. I suggest to use an alias or a shell script for all that.
Yours,
Peter
