Hi can't initialize 2 dimensional array: var ch : array[ 1..2, 1..2 ] of char = ( 'e', 'a', 's', 'y'); should it work? Thanks, Russ <russwhit(a)mind.net>

DIV bug found in GPC 19990510

Howdy all... Found an oddity with the DIV operation. The following line correctly produces a compile error (as it should): aninteger := 12.1 div 5.5; However, the following compiles & runs, behaving like a REAL division operation: writeln( 12.1 div 5.5 ); Very strange indeed! Error building the latest gpc snapshot

re; new snapshot

Hi Frank ran into two little bugs: 1: Since compiling previous snapshot changed motherboards here so i486 became i586. Ran into the "ar" bug again. While a soft link fixes the problem, changing line 74 of Makefile.in does it nicely: From: AR = ar To: AR = /usr/bin/ar 2. The same To help, we need a little more details -- which GPC version, which environment, etc. Concluding from your example below, let's assume DJGPP. Automake is broken under DJGPP (see the To-Do list), so try `--autobuild' instead, or removing all *.o and/or *.gpi files before compiling. In general, you should only have to specify the main program file name if you use --automake. But as I said, under DJGPP try --autobuild or removing compiled units... I have some problems with GPC.

Hi everyone. I have the following problems. 1. In pascal program like this ... uses crt; begin ClrScr; .... And it says that there is no reference to crt_clrscr. The same happens when I use C program with #include <conio.h> .... main() ..... clrscr(); .... Where's the problem? 2. When I use a project with a single file *.pas, I have to add these file to the project, do I have to add the units? I metion this because when I add only the *.pas It says that It cannot import the unit. When I close the project and I build all, it works. Thanks in advance.
