problems installing gpc on dos

i haven't found out how to install gpc on dos, or somewhere where it's explained well how to do it. i managed to build simple hello program, but once i add "uses crt" i get in the message window: .. .. "f:\djgpp\lib\gcc-lib\djgpp\2.81\units\crt.c(34) Error: curses.h: no such file or directory (ENOENT)" "f:\djgpp\lib\gcc-lib\djgpp\2.81\units\crt.c(34) Error: curspriv.h: no such file or directory (ENOENT)" .. .. "module/unit crt could not be compiled" i'd thank any1 who can help, coz ive spent days tryin to make some 32-bit pascal compiler+ide work here. yaron

compiling GPC on HP-UX

I am stuck on compiling GPC on HP-UX 10.20, and need some help. I got gcc-2.95.2 binuary from HP's web site; there was no gpc and that hence I needed to compile from the source. First, I merged gcc-2.95.2 with gpc-19991030. This merged source compiled OK and installed OK on Sparc Solaris 7. The same merged source, when compiled on HP-UX, was stuck when compiling GPC's rts/string2.pas. The following error was what I got. I had GNU {make, autoconf, automake, binutils, bison} on my $PATH on my HP-UX. I tried several times (first with gcc-2.7.2.1, second with all the GNU utils installed, third with gcc-2.95.2 binary installed) and got the same following error. Still porting

We are trying to port some old code from SCO OpenServer to Linux. We need a c compiler that generates object files in coff format so we can link with our other object files. Can gcc do this? Thank you. -Jason

Problem in decompressing gpc-19990118.alphaev56-dec-osf4.0d.tar.gz

Hi, I am trying to install gpc in a OSF1 Alpha system. However, I am unable to decompress gpc-19990118.alphaev56-dec-osf4.0d.tar.gz. I've already downloaded it three times (obviously in binary transfer mode), checked the version of gzip (it's version 1.2.4) [I've even downloaded the gzip source code and compiled] but without success... Is it possible that gpc-19990118.alphaev56-dec-osf4.0d.tar.gz is corrupted? What is your advice? Compiler error with transferring dynamic arrays???

The libraries used (curses for CRT, and GMP for the GMP unit as well as RX for the RegEx unit, both not BP compatible units, but new GPC units) can be found on ftp://agnes.dida.physik.uni-essen.de/gnu-pascal/libs/ There are binaries for some platforms, but not yet for EMX (you're the first one to ask for it). If you manage to compile them (which was quite easy under DJGPP and Cygwin, and at least PDCurses has special OS/2 build instructions and mentions EMX, so it seems to be supported), please upload them for the benefit of other users.
