Problem with unpacking of gpc-20010423_tar.gz

Hello, I tried to download the GPC version 'gpc-20010423_tar.gz' which was successful. But while trying to unpapack it with command Gunzip gpc-20010423_tar.gz an error message is seen :' INVALID COMPRESSED DATA - FORMAT VIOLATED'. Could you please help me out. Thanks and Regards Hari

It also builds on gcc-2.95.3 with Cygwin and Mingw, but fails with all sorts of problems under Solaris2.5.1 (many of them relate it seems to gcc headers, and the problems start long before it gets to the 'p' directory). Yes it is solved at least for for djgpp with gpc-20010502 and gcc-2.95.3 I have made the change for HAVE_SELECT. The resulting binary has been uploaded to agnes. Thanks ! GPC on FreeBSD

Hi, to install some of my programs, a FreeBSD user requires a current GPC version (preferably newer than 20000717). Is there any FreeBSD port available, or can someone provide one? (I have to experience with FreeBSD and no access to a FreeBSD machine myself.) If so, does it take care of installing cc1, cpp and libgcc.a as well, or will that have to be done manually? Start with something simple, say foo.pas: program foo; begin end. Step 1: note no space betwen "e" and "-" gpc --automake-o foo foo.pas Step 2: do it right gpc --automake -o foo foo.pas Step 3: repeat step 1. Shouldn't there be a built-in "make clean" in there someplace? Russ

compilation with GCC 2.95.3

Hello, I tried to compile the current snapshot of GPC with GCC 2.95.3 under SuSE 6.2. I followed the procedure as I always used to, but there seems to be some error - make complains that there is 'no rule to make choose-temp.o' Any hints? Solutions? Any comments will be appreciated. New bug in gpc-20010502?

Hi Frank et. al. A new bug (or incompatibility) seems to have crept into the latest gpc snapshot. In rts.c, in the function _p_SelectHandle(), there are these lines: #ifndef HAVE_SELECT (void) readfds; (void) writefds; (void) exceptfds; if (n) return -1; _p_SleepMicroSeconds (MicroSeconds); Well, each line, except the call to _p_SleepMicroSeconds() causes an error when compiling gpc for Mingw. Basically, I have had to comment out each troublesome line. I am not sure whether the problem is in that code or in the 'configure' script for the RTS or whether it is a gremlin in my system. Using gpc-200010502 getting many of these errors: router.pas: In procedure `Sendconsupmsg': router.pas:224: Internal GPC error: no data area in string router.pas:224: Internal compiler error in `declared_string_capacity', at types.c:1031 Please submit a full bug report to the GPC mailing list <gpc(a)gnu.de>. That is just an example. Was compiled with gcc-2.95.2, running on Mandrake Linux 7.2, running 2.2.17 kernel. Router.pas:224 is: VersionStr : STRING18 All of these problems were on string declarations in different areas of my source tree when Idid a full recompile after uprading. gpc-20010115 worked and compiled this same source with no problems.
