Good C programming tutorial site

Can we remove junk from the list?

We seem to be getting quite a bit of spam on our list lately i.e. messages from mohamismael@netscape, Mr. Tony Shinomanet and mohammad ahmend. Is it possible for somebody to remove this junk and perhaps bar the culprits from posting more junk? GNU Pascal in-line assembler

I have some very nice units written for Turbo Pascal / Delphi. They make use of the in-line assembler, whose syntax is different from GPC's. Could anyone tell me how I could translate them in order for them to be compilable by GPC? Thanks very much Silvio a Beccara Cornell University

Returning multiple variables to Pascal

I seem to be making some sort of basic mistake. I can't get the variables to come back again. I attach the files pcallc.p, ccall.c, ccall.h and Makefile. The Pascal program does not get the value 56 back (nor would I expect it to, because it has been passed by value). I have tried various permutations of the use of pointers, but none of them seem to work. How can I change my simple program to get the value 56 back from the C function? I'll again be grateful for your advice. Returning multiple variable to Pascal from a C function.

I have a lot of code which I am wanting to port from Sun's Sparcworks. The main algorithms are in Pascal, but the user interface was written in XView which was linked in via C. In Sparcworks, linking from Pascal to C involves statements of the following form: PROCEDURE X_SelAlgorithmn(VAR select_no : integer; VAR smess: string); external c; This is calling a C function which is returning values for select_no and smess. Some of my calls included a lot of variables which were set by a complicated form e.g. procedure x_rscinput_form(mc_code: string; var mc_name: string; var efficiency, d_rule_a, avail_ops, shifts, children, dist_rule_b: integer; var x_pos, y_pos, x_size, y_size: real; var tr_dev, audit_p, update_p: integer; var opt_mc_code: string; var hour_rate, ohead_rate: real; var minsu, minmc, mintr, batchsize, transfer, optmcrule: integer; var dist: boolean; var co_name: string); external c; Thus returning lots of variables with different types from C to Pascal. With GNU Pascal (thanks to the African Cheif and Kevan) I can pass variables from Pascal to C and I can get single variables back again. Is there a way that I can pass multiple variables into C and back into Pascal without resorting to global variable or using files? Any help would be very gratefully received. My installation of Pascal was very recent (and I think that I got the recent version). It was a binary distribution this time which came from the file gpc-20030830-with-gcc.i686-pc-cygwin.tar gpc -v gives: Reading specs from /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-cygwin/3.2.3/specs Configured with: ../configure --enable-languages=pascal --enable-threads=posix --with-system-zlib --enable-nls --without-included-gettext --enable-interpreter --disable-sjlj-exceptions --enable-shared --build=i686-pc-cygwin --host=i686-pc-cygwin --target=i686-pc-cygwin --enable-haifa --prefix=/usr Thread model: posix gpc version 20030830, based on gcc-3.2.3 Having read the bash manual (thanks Russel) I now realise that my pipes weren't working because the output was going to stderr rather than stdout and the pipe needs to be &> to redirect both.
