Running gpc-20060325 on i486-pc-mingw32, this program: program params (output); procedure p1 (s1 : string; s2 : string); begin writeln ('in p1') end; procedure p2 (s1, s2 : string); begin writeln ('in p2') end; begin p1 ('l', 'hello'); p2 ('l', 'hello') end. ...produces this output when compiled with --gnu-pascal: in p1 in p2 ...but this output when compiled with --extended-pascal: in p1 params: actual schema discriminants do not match (error #308 at 401426) Is this correct? -- Dave

64 bit

Dear friends, if I run GPC on a 64 bit machine (an AMD Athlon 64 X2 ), it is supposed to produce 64-bit code, is it right? But what are then the sizes of the various integer types available in GPC? If I let this code program sizes; begin writeln ('# size of integer is = ', sizeof (integer) ); writeln ('# size of medint is = ', sizeof (medint) ); writeln ('# size of longint is = ', sizeof (longint) ); end. print them out, I get these results: # size of integer is = 8 # size of medint is = 8 # size of longint is = 8 is that right? Shouldn't it be like 4,8,16? Change in packing between compiler versions

I am continuing to struggle with some code that compiles and runs as intended using gpc-20020502 based on gcc 2.95.2 that I am now trying to get it running with gpc-20060325 based on gcc-3.4.4. It appears the packing of records has changed. Correct way to access Errno

We have some code that compiles and runs as intended using gpc-20020502 based on gcc 2.95.2. I am now trying to get it running with gpc-20060325 based on gcc-3.4.4. As a demonstration the program Program Test_err; Var errno:integer; external name 'errno'; Begin Writeln(@Error number is ',Errno); End; Compiles but fails to link with 20060325 : "/usr/bin/ld: errno: TLS definition in /lib/libc.so.6 section .tbss mismatches non-TLS reference in /tmp/ccae8f7a.o" The same program runs correctly with 20020522 when external name is replaced by the older syntax asmname. A bit of googling suggests this is a common problem and not limited to gpc but I can't find how I am now supposed to access errno. gpc runtime error on sparc

Dear All I have loaded gpc and gcc on sun solaris10 sparc platform. Version Info :gpc version 20050331, based on gcc-3.4.3 I could compile and link the pascal programs but when I try to run in solaris debugger I am getting the below error. ******************************************************* Running: HelloWorld process id 4176 Reading libc-psr.so.1 reading en-us.is088859-15.503 singnal segv(no maping at fault address) in _p-rts-error-s34- finisherrormessage at 0x196e8 0x000196e8: -p-rts error-s34-finisherrormessage+0x0048 (st %12 %sp+64) dbx: READ of 4 bytes at address ff3fff9f8 filled error ******************************************************* By running directly it is giving segmentation fault(coredump) Where as C executables built with gcc are working fine Please suggest me, what to do? Getting an error while compiling GPC-20060325 on solaris10 intelplatform

Can Assert report the file name and line number?

Hi, I have a lot of assertions. If one of them fails, GPC only reports something like "assertion failed (error #306 at 40dd45)". How can I find out the exact assertion that failed? Thanks, Bastiaan.

Hi! I would like to know if I use mkdiff to create diff-file to gcc-4.1.1 can gpc work. If can, how I use mkdiff? I've been tried to do it, but I've been get many errors(no such file or directory). What can I do? Thanks, Bruno
