I personally think it would be a shame if this list is split into several languages
But if something interesting comes up in their list, the rest of us on the main list would miss out. [The Chief]
if it's really important, they'll tell us! [E. Seibertz]
It would be a ill turn as what would motivate Germans that uses a German list, because there English is not good, to begin translating a series of old postings, when there problem has been solved?
I am a Dane, my languages is neither English, German nor French, but if Dane's have to communicate with other than Dane's (or Scandinavian's), we have to learn other languages beside our native.
I think the Germans that don't read or write (perfectly) English, should see it as chance to improve there English. As I see it English is the language if you work with computers and software.
This is my humble opinion,
Agree fully. I can read German perfectly, but writing a msg takes 10 times as many times, and the hassle of monitoring two platforms, where the german probably will have a lower level, is too much.
Why will the new list have a lower level? Because all advanced users will monitor the English list anyway, and everything important will propagate to the English list anyway.
P.s. I learned to bring my English classes in practice by writing to the fido equivalent of comp.lang.modula2.
